HAVE YOU GOT A BUSHFIRE EMERGENCY PLAN?
We are having an horrendous bushfire season that’s being affected by the drought.
Life, property and pets, etc., need an emergency plan.
Bushfires are a part of the Australian psychyic, and so often home dwellers think it’s never going to happen to them, or just think the insurance costs are too high.
As you can see the heartbreaking misery on TV every night, it should make you think that nobody is in a position to not insure.
Anyone in the “out of town” situation could be impacted and as we’ve seen lately, even towns are being severely damaged or in some cases, destroyed.
If you search the Internet, there is an abundance of plans to follow, safety, and the most valuable of items, such as documents, photos and jewellery.
It has got to a stage now where some County residents are building “bunkers”, to store the precious items they want to protect and can’t take with them.
Building a “bunker”, is something that can be done over a period of time if your now not in a perilous situation at this time.
It can be a re-inforced area dug into a bare patch of ground and covered with fireproof material. Many items that your cherish and can’t evacuate, can be stored ther.
