Agri Business Consulting Group (ABCG) is delighted to have been named in the Top 10 of APAC CIO Outlook's Drone Tech Review. We have been using drones to assist in the task of crop loss assessment and risk surveying since 2014 and since then have seen tremendous advances in their imaging and analytical capabilities. To keep pace with the ever changing landscape of modern agriculture, it’s essential that professional crop loss adjusters use every technology at our disposal to achieve the most accurate loss measurement possible. For ABCG, the quest for best practice is our ultimate objective. This is what we do and we want to remain the best.

The future has arrived.

The latest-generation Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate (FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2), launches next week! This video, completed in partnership with UCP's COSMIC Program, details the capabilities of this NextGen satellite via interviews with scientists and mission planners. These experts introduce the instrumentation used and describe the collaborations that made the COSMIC-2 mission possible. Learn how uses a technique called radio occultation--making use of existing navigation satellite signals passing through the atmosphere to provide detailed measurements of temperature, pressure, and water vapor--and how these data contribute to exciting improvements in numerical weather prediction, hurricane forecasts, climate studies, and analysis of space weather affecting communication networks and other systems on Earth. It was great to catch up with some of our West Australian agronomists yesterday in Perth for a debrief and refresher workshop. Our team in WA dealt with almost 200 losses last season extending from the northern most cropping area to the southern coast. That represented an area 4 times larger than the UK.

Attending the Living Earth Symposium in Milan, organised by the European Space Agency. Learning all about advances in remote sensing capabilities for agriculture. Some truly amazing developments are just around the corner involving both crop identification and production forecasts. From a crop adjusters perspective, the early estimation of potential yield still remains the holy grail.

It’s that time of year again when we reflect on the past and look to the future, hopefully with a degree of optimism. Drought conditions in the East had a significant impact on 2018 winter season claim numbers, but that shortfall was more than covered by an avalanche of frost claims in the West, then followed by a near constant stream of hail and fire events.

Our expanding network of indpenendent agronmists has been kept extremely busy over the past few months responding to these various weather related events and we take this opportnity to thank them for their tremendous contribution to our overall claims response effort.

Our business can swing from routine claims runoff to “emergency” response in a heartbeat, and our ability to scale up and respond to claims arising from severe weather events has to be measured in hours not days.

To those who may be affecetd by these natural loss events, now or in the future, you can be assured that if ABCG is instructed by your Insurer to handle your claim, you will be dealing with experienced and truely impartial agricultural specialists.

Merry Christmas to all and here's hoping that 2019 brings with it health, wealth and happiness.
