Construction site CCTV can do more than record what happened after the fact.

On one project, the team needed a way to know when someone entered a high-risk rooftop area or crossed beyond a live-edge barrier.

The solution was to configure virtual detection lines within the camera system.

If someone crossed the defined boundary, the system could automatically send the site foreman a notification and an image of what triggered the alert.

That means better visibility over a high-risk area — and a faster way for the site team to become aware of potential issues.

In our new video, Elliott walks through how the system was configured and why intelligent CCTV can become an early-warning tool, rather than simply something reviewed after an incident.

Modern CCTV isn’t just about watching footage anymore.

With AI-powered analytics, security systems can search for specific events like someone falling, fighting, throwing objects, or even identify vehicles. These intelligent searches make it far easier for businesses to review incidents and understand exactly what happened.

Instead of guessing where to look, the system helps you find the key moments quickly.

Smart security isn’t just about cameras — it’s about better insights.

If you’re considering upgrading your security system, Access Alarms can guide you through the options.

Construction site security isn’t just about recording what happened after the fact.

It’s about identifying risks early — and designing the right response around the site.

Tonight at 6:00pm, we’re sharing a new case study looking at our work with McNab across a number of construction projects.

Elliott walks through two very different challenges we’ve helped address:

→ Monitoring access around a live-edge area using intelligent camera detection
→ Responding to repeated weekend break-ins and attempted tool and copper theft on a remote site

Both required different solutions, because what works on a remote construction project won’t necessarily work on a site surrounded by homes or other businesses.

The full video looks at how CCTV, alarms and intelligent detection can be adapted around the actual risks of a construction environment.

One of the biggest advantages of modular LED signage? If one tile fails, you replace the tile — not the entire screen. That means lower maintenance costs, less downtime, and way more flexibility as your business grows.

These screens can also scale to almost any size and are becoming a popular option for portable event displays, roadside trailers, and temporary promotions. Perfect for businesses that want advertising that moves with them.

🎥 New on YouTube at 6:30 PM: Inside Moco Foods’ Smart Distribution Centre

A truck driver arrives on site.

They enter their allocated PIN code.

An LED screen welcomes them by name and directs them to the correct loading dock.

Simple for the driver — but behind the scenes, a lot had to work together.

In our latest case study, Elliott walks through how Access Alarms helped deliver integrated technology across Moco Foods’ distribution centre in Wacol, including:

🔐 Access control for vehicle and site movement
📹 CCTV across operational and refrigerated areas
📡 75+ wireless access points and data locations
❄️ Refrigeration-sealed cabling to help protect energy performance
🚚 Custom dock management for truck arrivals
🚛 Licence Plate Recognition planning for future automation

This project is a great example of how security technology can do more than protect a site.

It can support operations, improve driver flow, reduce manual admin and give teams better visibility across the facility.

🎬 The video goes live today at 6:30 PM AEST.

Security technology is no longer just about protecting warehouses after hours.

Today, it's helping transport and logistics businesses improve workplace safety, operational efficiency, and accountability.

In our latest video, Elliott explores how smart technology can assist with:

🚜 Forklift & pedestrian safety
📦 Goods and pallet tracking
📹 Video evidence for operational reviews
📊 KPI reporting to reduce loading times and identify bottlenecks

Sometimes, saving just 5–10 minutes per truck can translate into significant savings across an entire fleet.

This is part of our ongoing YouTube series exploring how modern security technology is solving real-world business challenges across different industries.

Over 20 years in security… and still holding the line.

Even the greatest strategists in history would struggle to get through a well-designed access control system.

🚫 “Sorry Napoleon… your access card has been revoked.”

At Access Alarms, we’ve spent decades building systems that don’t just look good on paper — they work in the real world. From commercial sites to large-scale facilities, it’s about making sure the right people get access… and the wrong ones don’t.

Because good security isn’t about reacting — it’s about stopping problems before they even start.

We’ve just released a new video breaking down how smart security is being applied across industrial and construction sites.

These environments come with real challenges — from machine downtime and safety risks to theft and site compliance — and the impact is often felt directly in project timelines and operational costs.

In this video, Elliott walks through how technology is being used to solve these problems in real-world scenarios across:
🏭 Industrial facilities
🏗️ Construction projects

From monitoring constant-running machinery and triggering alerts the moment something stops…
to protecting sites from tool and copper theft…
to ensuring workers are inducted and compliant on site…

It’s about moving beyond reactive security and creating systems that help you stay ahead of issues before they escalate.

We’re also seeing more sites adopt:
📸 Real-time monitoring and remote diagnostics
🚨 Instant alerts for unauthorised access
👷 Automated induction tracking for safer worksites

Because ultimately, it’s not just about security — it’s about protecting your timeline, your assets, and your people.

If you’re currently managing a site, it’s worth asking:
Is your setup helping you stay ahead… or just reacting after the fact?

When it comes to commercial buildings and retail environments, security is about more than just preventing incidents — it’s about improving how your entire operation runs.

In this video, Elliott breaks down how Access Alarms supports two key markets:
🏢 Commercial buildings
🛍️ Retail stores & shopping centres

We explore the real-world challenges these environments face, including:
✔️ Public liability risks (slips, trips & falls)
✔️ OH&S compliance and incident visibility
✔️ Tracking movement of goods and people

And more importantly — how modern technology can help solve them.

One of the most powerful tools we use is heat mapping. This allows businesses to:
📊 Understand customer movement and behaviour
📍 Identify high-traffic areas in stores and buildings
🛒 Optimise product placement for better visibility and sales
🧹 Allocate cleaning and security resources more effectively

For retail, it’s about driving better outcomes on the floor.
For commercial sites, it’s about efficiency, safety, and smarter resource allocation.

At Access Alarms, we don’t just install systems — we apply technology in a way that delivers real, measurable value to your business.

If your access control system still “works”… that doesn’t mean it’s secure.

In this video, we break down one of the most common systems still installed in commercial buildings — older RFID-based readers like the HID ProxPoint — and why they’ve become a growing security risk over time.

While these systems were reliable when first installed, they lack the encryption, control, and flexibility that modern access control systems now provide. In many cases, older cards can be easily copied or emulated using low-cost devices.

We also explore what modern systems offer today, including:
🔑 Encrypted smart credentials
📱 Mobile phone access (Bluetooth & NFC)
☁️ Cloud-based management
⚡ Instant user control and permissions

Upgrading doesn’t always mean replacing everything — it’s about understanding where your risks are and modernising your system to match today’s security standards.

If your system is 15–20 years old, it may be time to take a closer look.
