Some corners of Darling Works look less like a creative hub and more like the set of a horror movie.
This is the old boiler room, now unofficially known as The Dungeon.
It has thick concrete walls, creepy inspection windows, barred-up old doors, strange old panels, a wall that looks like it has been dripping in blood-coloured resin, and what appears to be a giant old fan hiding behind the back section.
At some point, it was even used as a DJ studio, complete with soundproof walls, which feels slightly excessive given the concrete walls are already about a foot thick.
Every part of this place has a past. Some of it is industrial, some of it is mysterious, and some of it is just completely bizarre.
We’re still uncovering what Darling Works used to be, while slowly working out what it gets to become next.
