What We Framed Wednesday's ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ‹

Check out this vibrant piece Lemonheads!

We were lucky enough that this Pro Hart Orchid print, composed of vibrant blues, reds, yellows and greens, found its way to our shop. We added a white mat board to give the print some breathing room and make the piece pop. The customer decided on this beautiful gold, bamboo style frame, which really compliments the piece nicely. Then Artglass by Helm Australia was chosen as the glazing to really finish it off, protecting the print with its UV protective qualities and amazing anti-reflective finish.

We really loved seeing this piece come together and think the framing has elevated this Pro Hart Art Gallery & Online Gift Store print incredibly. ๐Ÿ–ผ

We've all received a Christmas present that's ended up at the back of a cupboard. ๐Ÿ‘€

But what about a gift that brings back a favourite memory every time someone walks past it?

An old family photo. A child's first drawing. A special place. Even a handwritten note from someone they love.

Sometimes the most meaningful gifts are things we already have.

Bring us your story, and we'll help you turn it into something that doesn't end up in the back of the cupboard.

"The framing costs more than the artwork!" ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Yep. Sometimes it does.

And we completely understand why that can come as a surprise.

But here's something worth considering...

A $50 print and a $5,000 original artwork can require exactly the same amount of materials, time and craftsmanship to frame.

The glass doesn't know what you paid for the artwork. Neither does the timber, the mount board or the person carefully putting it all together. And more importantly, that $50 print is the piece you absolutely fell in love with, the one you want to look at every single day.

That's where custom framing comes in.

It's not about making something inexpensive look expensive. It's about giving something you love the presentation it deserves.

And the best part? There's rarely just one way to frame something. We can work through different designs, materials and options to find the right balance between appearance, protection and budget.

Because the price of the artwork and its value to you aren't always the same thing. ๐Ÿ‹

Memory Monday: The extraordinary story of Vivian Maier. ๐Ÿ“ท

Imagine spending decades doing something you love, creating more than 100,000 photographs, and almost nobody knowing how talented you were.

That was Vivian Maier.

A nanny by profession, Vivian spent her spare time wandering the streets of Chicago and New York, documenting ordinary people living ordinary lives. She wasn't chasing fame. She simply had an extraordinary eye for the moments most people overlooked.

Much of her work remained hidden away until a chance discovery at an auction in 2007. Today, she's celebrated as one of the remarkable street photographers of the 20th century.

There's something quite beautiful about that.

The people she photographed probably had no idea their ordinary Tuesday afternoon might become a piece of photographic history.

It goes to show you should never underestimate the importance of capturing the little moments.

They might mean more than you could ever imagine. ๐Ÿ‹

FIND IT FRIDAY! ๐Ÿ‹

Alright, Lemonheads. We've got a mission for you.

Yesterday we told you to take it out of the tube.

Today, we want you to actually FIND the thing. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Go on. Have a look.

And when you find it, don't just put it back!

Bring the whole tube into Lemon Tree. We'll help you work out what to do with it.

Treasure belongs on walls, not in tubes.

Hey Central Coast artists, we want to know you.
Whether you're working towards your first market, selling prints online, preparing for an exhibition or you've been doing this for years, there's a lot that happens between finishing the artwork and putting it in someone's hands.
That's where we come in.
Digital reproduction, fine art printing, canvas stretching, custom framing and advice when you're not quite sure what the finished piece needs.
More importantly, we'd like Lemon Tree to become somewhere local artists actually feel comfortable walking into, talking and figuring things out.
So if you're making art on the Coast, come in and introduce yourself. We'd genuinely love to see what you're working on.

That cardboard tube isn't a permanent home. ๐Ÿ‹

You found the perfect print online. You ordered it. You waited patiently (or not so patiently) for it to arrive.

And when it finally did?

"I'll get that framed soon."

Sound familiar?

There's probably a beautiful piece of artwork sitting in someone's spare room right now, still rolled up in the tube it arrived in.

And we reckon that's a bit of a shame.

You don't need to know what frame you want. You don't need to have the whole design figured out.

Just bring it in and we'll take care of the rest.

Take it out of the tube. Let's get it on the wall.

A little space can make a big difference. ๐Ÿ‹

Lemonheads, have you ever wondered why your framer might recommend a mount or spacers between your artwork and the glass?

It's not just for looks!

When artwork sits directly against glazing, moisture, humidity and changes in temperature can create problems over time. In some cases, photographs and delicate surfaces can even become stuck to the glass.

Now, that doesn't mean artwork touching glass is *always* a problem. Certain materials and specialist framing techniques are designed for direct contact.

But for many traditional artworks, photographs and works on paper, a little separation is a sensible precaution.

That's why we consider more than just the frame itself when designing your piece.

Because good framing isn't just about how it looks when you pick it up. It's about how it holds up over time.
