Clean up of what remained of a Gyrocopter that crashed yesterday at Moon Point.

Luckily when it happened a Whalesong Cruise boat was only 50 metres away with their crew running in to rescue the pilot as it went up in flames.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the pilot suffered face, hip, and leg injuries when the aircraft crashed near the Moon Point campground and caught fire.

We completed a recovery off the Island for a 4wd that wouldn’t start.
The owners then mentioned they know what caused the electrical issue, and shared a video they took a few hours earlier on the Lake Wabby Scenic Road. Vehicle wasn’t insured and thanks to the owner in taking it in his stride and allowing us to share the video. He has a bit of wiring ahead.
