COMMUNITY UPDATE

Port Stephens Council has today added bollards to the median strip where vehicles have been completing U-Turns when leaving, or driving through onto the wrong side of the road to access, the 4WD track. This addresses some of the road safety concerns that had been raised with council.

COMMUNITY UPDATE

Median Strips

We are into a part of our work cycle that is allowing HAS Projects to commence works in the median strips. These works will be scheduled around ordinary activities in the Estate. Works will involve w**d spraying and the spreading of mulch. The works will start at the Northern Entrance. Silt bags have been placed around drains to allow the mulch to remain in the gardens.

Southern Entrance works are awaiting feedback from PSC to manage the road safety issue in conjunction with the landscaping works.

Replanting and Topsoil

We have not rescheduled planting works in the median strips. Any replanting in the near term will be in our gardens first.

Topsoil for our parks and any replanting will be appropriately budgeted and planned for spring growing season to give the works the best chance to be successful.

Cabbage Tree Park

This week the two garden beds along the roadside of Cabbage Tree Park will be ploughed to removed the dead plants and turn the soil over. Post these works mulch will be placed in the gardens to have them prepped for replanting next year.

Yukkas

This week while the tractor is in the Estate it is likely that the yukkas will be removed from the median strips. Can residents please refrain from placing them on community land or the median strips.

COMMUNITY UPDATE

Please be aware there have been snake sightings around the Estate.

This brown snake was sighted heading back into Waratah Park from the concrete pad for the infrastructure on the western side of the park.

COMMUNITY UPDATE

Banksia and Waratah Parks will be having the w**ds sprayed on Thursday (weather permitting), signs will be in place to advise of the works occurring.

Duneside Park repairs are scheduled for Friday. Lee's Lawn, Garden and Maintenance will be onsite to complete the works required.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

Cabbage Tree Park w**ds will be sprayed on Thursday. There will be signage, but please avoid the area until it is dry.

Also on Thursday, there will be a cleanup around the communications hut and tower.

Cabbage Tree and Waratah Parks are expected to be fertilised tomorrow (Friday 26/9/25). Banksia may get an additional dose time permitting. I would avoid the area while the fertiliser is being spread.

Further announcements will be made around w**d spraying over the next fortnight (once the wind drops).

Sorry for the late notification. Banksia Park is expected to be fertilised tomorrow (Tuesday 9/9/25) before the forecast rain this week. I would avoid the area while the fertiliser is being spread.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

There have been repairs completed on the electrical installation at Duneside Park. The old post had been bumped and was deteriorating. A new post installed, and the box disconnected and reconnected to avoid any future issues.

The BBQs have also been serviced electrically to be in working order for summer. New parts were installed for issues experienced at Banksia Park BBQs.

Cost $2,418

Works completed by Future Proof Electrical, a local Seaside contractor.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

Waratah Park, even with all the rain, is wetter than we would have expected. We now believe that there may be a leak in the irrigation system. To allow us to check the system we have turned off the water in Waratah Park for approximately 2 weeks. This unfortunately means that the bubbler in Waratah Park will also be unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Community Update

Better late than never!! The softfall repairs have finally been completed at Waratah Park.

We have struggled to find a contractor that was able to complete the repairs. Thanks must go to Damien Fitzgerald who chased this contractor to enable these repairs. The final cost was $12,500.

Now that we have contractor, we have sought feedback on the trampoline area at Waratah Park and suitable apparatus for the area. We will advise once we have any updates.

Community Announcement

The painting of the Southern Entry signs has been completed.

This was enabled by a resident working with the committee to source quotes for an area of concern. The committee worked with the resident to ensure it was budgeted and approved for ex*****on.

If you have any painting needs this was completed by Garofalos Painting Services.

There will be fencing protecting the area.
