Dr. Stephen Shore reminds us of the individuality in autism. Each learner is unique, and their path in education will be too.

Quote: “If you’ve met one person with autism, you’ve met one person with autism. Each student’s learning path is unique.”

Kids with ADHD often need to move to stay focused.
Breaks and active learning are not rewards, they are part of what helps them do their best.

“Allow regular breaks and active learning. Kids with ADHD aren’t ‘naughty,’ they just need to move and reset.”

Learning about the causes of ADHD is important, but it is just the beginning.

We also need tools and strategies that help kids grow and learn in everyday life.

“We want to understand the genetic, neurological, and environmental factors... and then build interventions that really help kids develop.”

This is a cool piece of tech that is making movies and TV more accessible to those with low vision. (plus some theatre performances).

How does it work?
Just install the app on your smartphone or tablet. Select the film, series or theatre performance that you would like to watch and download the corresponding audio description. Put on your headphones and hit “play” when it starts. Earcatch will synchronise the audio description automatically.

The possibilities that AI open up are seemingly endless. While it is understandable that statement may scare you (we would be lying if we said we were unphased by it), there are plenty of viabilities for existing accessible features that improve, making accessibility... more accessible.

This article mentions things like virtual signers - being able to have a computer-generated sign language translation for video content removes the barriers of finding someone who knows sign language and recording them as part of your video. If you can just add it to your video, why not?

We have developed a similar tool for Audio Description through Meet Aandi - a simple-to-use text to speech video remediation tool that automates captions and transcripts using neural voice for AD. No expensive editing tools or voice actors required. No excuses not to include AD in your video content.

'Future Tech' is nowhere near as far into the future as it once was, so why not find out how AI can help you bring your message to all sorts of people?

Here’s how AI will help companies deliver experiences that reflect the diversity of their customers.
