Great place to stay and one we recommend.

On 1 August 2001, we became the proud owners of the Stanley Hotel.

We didn't simply buy a Hotel, we took on the care of a Stanley landmark that had already been welcoming locals and travellers for more than 150 years.

Over the past 25 years, we've poured an enormous amount of hard work, determination, and heart into the Hotel. Along the way there have been renovations, changing menus, countless raffles, community fundraisers, weddings, birthdays, staff parties, Friday-night catch-ups and more meals and cold drinks served than we could possibly count.

There have also been some memorable milestones - from MasterChef and Stanley's Hollywood moment during the filming of The Light Between Oceans, to being named Australia's best regional Hotel and receiving state and national recognition for hospitality and tourism.

But the most important part of the past 25 years has always been the people.

To every staff member who has worked alongside us, every local who has supported us, every visitor who has walked through our doors, and every supplier, friend and family member who has been part of the journey - thank you.

A building can hold nearly 180 years of history, but it is the people, conversations, celebrations and memories inside it that make it a pub.

Cheers to 25 years – and many more to come 🍻

Great coffee and conversations to be had here ..

Far South Tasmania is full of surprises - including a Rocket that can be found in Southport! Well - at least a great coffee spot that is built to resemble a rocket at least!

Rocket at the end of the road is a great place to grab a coffee, a treat and have a conversation with friendly locals. Wonder over the road to the beautiful beach, take in the view and experience what makes Far South Tasmania such a desirable location.

Friends and family of Kamil Holán launch fundraiser

The road racing community has always stood together in difficult moments. ❤️

Following the tragic loss of Czech road racer Kamil Holán at the 2026 North West 200, a fundraiser has now been launched to support his three daughters during an incredibly difficult time.

Kamil was a hugely respected and popular figure across the roads scene, known for his passion, determination and love for the sport. Fans from across Ireland, the UK, Czech Republic and beyond have already begun showing their support.

Another week rolls around and it’s time for another delivery run — 10 more tyres heading over to Bike Barn for some fresh rubber goodness. 🛞✨

The big bikes are chewing through rear tyres about every second rental, which sounds brutal… but it’s actually the perfect sign. It means riders are out there having a blast.

Sure, it’s a lot of tyres through the season… but fresh rubber means grip, confidence, and happy customers heading home with big smiles and lasting memories of Tasmania’s roads.

Tyres may disappear quickly, but the stories they create last a lot longer. Did you want to hear these tales, or be the one telling them ?

February = “Lap Tassie Like You Mean It” month.

Three legends heading out this morning.
Two more tomorrow.
That wil be 19 riders out there carving corners, chasing views, and wondering why they didn’t do this sooner.

Ten bikes roll back in Friday… which means Saturday is dedicated to washing off the bugs, the road grime, and the evidence of way too much fun.

With 29 bikes in the fleet, there are still a few March (or April/May) escape plans up for grabs…

All subject to how convincing you are with your HR department 😏

Tasmania isn’t going anywhere.
But those available bikes might.
