I often get asked why I choose to live and work on the Mid North Coast.

This.

No filters. No fancy words. Just a beach walk before the day gets going.

When work is busy, I’ve learnt that stepping away for 20 minutes can be more productive than pushing through for another two hours.

Some of my best thinking happens here, with sand under my feet and the sound of the ocean in the background.

I’m grateful to call this place home.

Where do you go when you need a bit of perspective?

There’s something really powerful about taking a step back from the day-to-day and giving yourself space to think differently.

So many women in business are juggling competing priorities, making decisions on the run and constantly supporting everyone else - often without taking time to pause and refocus on themselves and their direction.

That’s why I’m really looking forward to supporting the upcoming Collab Lab with Barrington Coast Women in Business.

A full day designed for learning, strategy, clarity and connection with incredible women in business, facilitated by Michelle Broadbent, with special guest Samantha Wills and breathwork sessions with Paulina Kabaczuk.

It’s the kind of day where you can step out of the noise, reconnect with your goals and walk away with practical next steps.

I love being able to share opportunities like this with my network, especially when it’s with an organisation that genuinely values people, community and relationships.

We’re partnering with Coastline Bank to find their next People & Culture Manager - a standalone HR leadership role based on the beautiful Mid North Coast in Kempsey.

What stood out to me about this opportunity is the balance between strategic thinking and hands-on support. Coastline Bank is looking for someone who can partner closely with leaders, build trusted relationships and help shape a positive employee experience across the organisation.

If you’re an experienced HR professional looking for a role where your work will matter, I’d love to connect for a confidential chat.

And as always, shares across my network are very appreciated - sometimes the right person isn’t actively looking, but they’re ready for the right opportunity.

I’m really looking forward to International HR Day this year and would love for you to join us in Sydney.

International HR Day is a great reminder of the impact HR has across our workplaces - often behind the scenes - supporting people, shaping culture and helping organisations navigate change and complexity.

We’ll be coming together at Hays in the Sydney CBD for an informal opportunity to connect with peers.

If you’re keen to come along, you can register here: https://www.ahri.com.au/event/international-hr-day-celebration-sydney

It would be great to see you there.

"This agreement can be reviewed and adjusted by mutual agreement as circumstances change."

A few reasons this one matters in practice:

Things change (quickly) – roles evolve, business priorities shift, and what made sense at the start might not fit 6 months in. This keeps the contract relevant.

Reduces friction – instead of getting stuck in “that’s not in scope” conversations, it opens the door to practical, adult discussions.

Protects the relationship – it signals flexibility and trust, which is often what keeps partnerships working long-term.

Avoids workarounds – without this, people either ignore the contract or work around it, which creates risk and confusion.

Encourages regular check-ins – it subtly reinforces that agreements aren’t set-and-forget; they should be revisited as part of good business practice.

We talk about trust a lot in workplaces.

But often, it’s a bit vague.

That’s why I keep coming back to the BRAVING framework from Brené Brown. It breaks trust down into behaviours… which is where it actually becomes useful.

Not just “trust me”…but how.

Swipe through to understand the framework and why I think it’s most powerful when we turn it inward

Curious - which part of trust feels hardest to hold consistently right now?

I’m reaching out to my network on the Mid North Coast (Port Macquarie region in particular).

I’m currently connecting with experienced Senior HR Business Partners / HR Managers and Financial Controllers / Head of Finance who may be open to new opportunities or simply open to a conversation about what’s next.

If that’s you, or someone you rate highly, I’d genuinely love to connect.

As always, the best people often come through trusted referrals, so if someone comes to mind, please feel free to share my details.

Thanks in advance - I really appreciate the support.

Progress doesn’t always look like big changes or major milestones.
More often, it’s the small, consistent steps that quietly move things forward.

A clearer conversation.
A small shift in approach.
A decision that creates a little more clarity.

Over time, those steps build momentum - and that’s where real progress happens.
