Monday morning and Melbourne delivers this little gem… 💙

“Somebuddy loves you.”

Not sure who needed to hear that today, but I figured it was worth sharing.

Mondays can feel a bit like opening a mystery box. You never quite know what’s waiting in your inbox, your calendar, or that email marked “quick question”.

So here’s your Monday reminder:

✨ Drink the coffee.
✨ Take the walk.
✨ Tackle one thing at a time.
✨ Be kind to yourself.
✨ And remember that somewhere out there, somebuddy is cheering you on.

Now go and make this week a good one.

(And if you’re the person putting signs like this around Melbourne, thank you. You made me smile.)

A sign at my son’s rugby game this weekend said:

These are kids.
This is a game.
The coaches are volunteers.
The referees are human.
This is not the World Cup.

I couldn’t help thinking how much of this applies to workplaces.

People are human.
People make mistakes.
People are learning.
People are often doing the best they can.

High-performing teams aren’t built on perfection. They’re built on trust, support, accountability and a bit of grace when things don’t go exactly to plan.

A good reminder from the sidelines.

There’s something exciting happening in Sydney this June, and I’m looking forward to being part of the conversation.

The Australian HR Institute (AHRI) NSW Conference 2026 is bringing together HR professionals, business leaders and people practitioners to explore a topic that’s front of mind for many of us:

HR+: Where technology scales and humans elevate.

As AI, automation and digital tools continue to reshape our workplaces, I believe one thing remains true – great organisations are still built on trust, connection, leadership and meaningful employee experiences.

The opportunity for HR isn’t choosing between people and technology. It’s understanding how to use technology to create more space for the human side of work.

I’m looking forward to hearing new ideas, challenging my thinking, and connecting with others who are passionate about creating great places to work.

If you’re attending, I’d love to catch up and hear what’s top of mind for you right now.

I often get asked why I choose to live and work on the Mid North Coast.

This.

No filters. No fancy words. Just a beach walk before the day gets going.

When work is busy, I’ve learnt that stepping away for 20 minutes can be more productive than pushing through for another two hours.

Some of my best thinking happens here, with sand under my feet and the sound of the ocean in the background.

I’m grateful to call this place home.

Where do you go when you need a bit of perspective?

There’s something really powerful about taking a step back from the day-to-day and giving yourself space to think differently.

So many women in business are juggling competing priorities, making decisions on the run and constantly supporting everyone else - often without taking time to pause and refocus on themselves and their direction.

That’s why I’m really looking forward to supporting the upcoming Collab Lab with Barrington Coast Women in Business.

A full day designed for learning, strategy, clarity and connection with incredible women in business, facilitated by Michelle Broadbent, with special guest Samantha Wills and breathwork sessions with Paulina Kabaczuk.

It’s the kind of day where you can step out of the noise, reconnect with your goals and walk away with practical next steps.

I love being able to share opportunities like this with my network, especially when it’s with an organisation that genuinely values people, community and relationships.

We’re partnering with Coastline Bank to find their next People & Culture Manager - a standalone HR leadership role based on the beautiful Mid North Coast in Kempsey.

What stood out to me about this opportunity is the balance between strategic thinking and hands-on support. Coastline Bank is looking for someone who can partner closely with leaders, build trusted relationships and help shape a positive employee experience across the organisation.

If you’re an experienced HR professional looking for a role where your work will matter, I’d love to connect for a confidential chat.

And as always, shares across my network are very appreciated - sometimes the right person isn’t actively looking, but they’re ready for the right opportunity.

I’m really looking forward to International HR Day this year and would love for you to join us in Sydney.

International HR Day is a great reminder of the impact HR has across our workplaces - often behind the scenes - supporting people, shaping culture and helping organisations navigate change and complexity.

We’ll be coming together at Hays in the Sydney CBD for an informal opportunity to connect with peers.

If you’re keen to come along, you can register here: https://www.ahri.com.au/event/international-hr-day-celebration-sydney

It would be great to see you there.
