The Toowoomba Region Sports Precinct continues to progress as a major investment in regional sport, recreation, and community infrastructure. โ€

The updated master plan, endorsed by Toowoomba Region in June 2025, reinforces the vision for a premier multi-sport destination.

The revised plan incorporates improved functionality, updated site planning informed by topography and geology, enhanced road access, and safer off-street parking solutions.

Located in Charlton on Council-owned land adjacent to the Toowoomba Bypass and Toowoomba Connection Road, the precinct is being developed to respond to growing community demand for sporting facilities while supporting the regionโ€™s ability to host state and national events.

The precinct will deliver a diverse range of sporting and recreation facilities, amenities, and a district recreation park, while recognising and incorporating cultural and Indigenous landmarks and artefacts within the site.

Delivered through a staged approach over the coming years, the Toowoomba Region Sports Precinct represents a long-term commitment to creating connected spaces for athletes, community members, and visitors.

The Brisbane MODE team are proud to be contributing to the planning and design of this important regional facility alongside our project partner , supporting the creation of a precinct that will grow and adapt alongside the community.

The Werribee Oncology Treatment Centre officially opened in July, marking an important milestone for the Wyndham community and providing the municipalityโ€™s first dedicated cancer care centre.

Located within the St Vincentโ€™s Private Hospital campus, the GenesisCare centre provides external beam radiation therapy (EBRT), bringing specialist cancer treatment closer to home for patients and their families.

The 640mยฒ single-storey facility is organised around a linear accelerator bunker and dedicated CT imaging room, supported by patient treatment, observation and consultation spaces, staff amenities and operational areas. The design carefully integrates the new facility within the existing hospital campus while responding to the operational requirements of specialist radiation therapy.

Creating a calm and welcoming environment was central to the design approach. Clerestory windows draw natural light deep into the facility, while timber tones, warm finishes and greenery create a considered, reassuring environment for patients, carers and staff.

Externally, the architecture responds to GenesisCareโ€™s established material language while respecting the character of the broader St Vincentโ€™s Werribee campus. Materiality, form and detailing were carefully resolved to create a cohesive addition to the existing health precinct.

The project reflects a strong collaborative relationship between GenesisCare, the Melbourne MODE team, MostynCopper, St Vincent's Health Australia, Intrec and the broader consultant team.

The refurbishment of Edith Cowan Universityโ€™s School of Science transforms a traditional cellular office layout into a more open and adaptable environment for teaching, research and collaboration.

The interior design introduces a mix of flexible work settings, from quiet focus areas and shared desks to informal collaboration spaces, allowing postgraduate students and academics to move between different modes of work throughout the day.

Improved visual connections and access to natural light support wellbeing, while integrated meeting points and breakout spaces create opportunities for informal discussion, knowledge sharing and interaction across disciplines.

The result is a more agile and connected academic workplace that responds to the evolving needs of the School of Science and its community.

Delivered by our Perth studio, the project reflects MODE's CONNECTED By Design philosophy, bringing together workplace strategy, interior design and user experience to create a more adaptable and connected environment for teaching, research and collaboration. Congratulations to the team on another strong outcome.

Denim was the dress code across MODE yesterday as our teams got behind Jeans for Genes AU Day and helped raise funds for an important cause.

From classic blue jeans to some very committed double and triple denim efforts, our studios embraced the opportunity to support vital children's medical research while having a bit of fun along the way.

A big thank you to everyone who donated, purchased raffle tickets and took part. It's always encouraging to see our people come together in support of initiatives that make a positive difference beyond our projects and workplaces.

Here are a few snapshots from across the business.

Exciting to see Regal Landing taking shape in Rouse Hill, with construction progressing on this mixed-use development within Sydney's growing North West corridor.

We're proud to be delivering Regal Landing in partnership with , the builder on the project, whose design management and construction management capability has been driving delivery from concept through to construction. DSD's team has led the coordination of design across all disciplines and is managing the build on the ground, keeping the project moving with pace and precision.

Designed to support the evolving needs of local businesses, Regal Landing will bring together flexible commercial and light industrial spaces, including warehousing, serviced retail, showroom, bulky goods and professional office uses.

As one of Sydney's key growth areas continues to evolve, Regal Landing will provide a contemporary employment environment that supports business activity, accessibility, connectivity and long-term flexibility.

Great work by DSD, the MODE Sydney team and our project partners in bringing this project forward!

Great to see strong progress continuing the Guildford Aquatic Centre MODEs Sydney Studio!

The project is really starting to take shape on site, with key structural elements now well advanced and the scale of the facility becoming much more tangible. Itโ€™s always rewarding to see the transition from design and coordination into built form the community can begin to recognise and connect with.

A key moment emerging on site is the curved, coloured concrete masonry blockwork defining the entry, creating a clear and welcoming arrival sequence and giving the building a strong and recognisable identity within its context. The material palette is also beginning to read, with a smooth, porcelain-like white finish introducing a soft glow, offsetting the solidity of the masonry and bringing a level of refinement to the composition.

The facility will include two dedicated learn to swim pools, a critical component that underpins the value of this building for the local community. Providing accessible spaces for swimming education supports water confidence and safety, ensuring these essential life skills are embedded as part of everyday community infrastructure.

As the project progresses, it also prompts a broader reflection on the role of architecture in growth areas. In Guildford, a rapidly growing and diverse Western Sydney community, there is an opportunity to deliver civic infrastructure that goes beyond function, supporting dignity, identity and long-term community value.

Concrete masonry blockwork plays an important role in this, offering durability, resilience and low maintenance while allowing the architecture to be expressed clearly through material, form and colour.

A big thank you to the broader consultant and construction team for their ongoing collaboration as we move through the next stages.
