Are you cultivating a culture of learning?
In his article “The Power of Collaborative Learning: More Important Than Ever”, Josh Bersin said:
“Regardless of your efforts to build great content and hire best instructors, the culture of learning always prevails.”
The same article states that you typically remember 28% of what you learned when you study alone. Repeat the material, remember 46%.
But when you use it, answer questions about it, and interact with others, you remember 69%. The reason? Actually conceptualizing, recalling, and using information is what creates the “memory pathways” that stick in your mind.
Given these numbers, what are you doing to contribute to cultivating a learning culture in your company or in your training sessions? As trainers how do you make sure your trainees get what they need and walk out with information they can successfully apply in their roles?
