There's a fourth generation running around the property - they're more interested in the dogs and the dam than the vines, for now.

But our family has watched this happen before. Curiosity about the tractor turns into questions about the soil. Questions about the soil turn into learning all about the family business.

We're not in a hurry to hand anything over. But it's a good feeling, knowing this place might keep going the way it always has: one generation inviting the next to be curious.

A rug on the grass, a wheel of brie going soft in the sun, some good crackers, a platter of fresh fruit and nothing else planned for the afternoon.

Don't forget the Reisling.

Pack it properly chilled, and thank us later.

Mount Frankland Shiraz.

In the glass: deep garnet, dense at the core.

On the nose: dark plum, blackberry, a hint of cracked pepper and warm earth.

On the palate: rich and layered, with velvety tannins and a finish that lingers with quiet intensity. A w**e built on patience, not power alone.

Grown slow, on nature's timeline. We think this one speaks for itself.

Straight out of the w**emaking room.

Packing cartons is theoretically one of the least 'exciting' parts of what we do, but in fact - we love it. Boxes stacked, hands full, a good drop finally ready to leave the room it was made in. Three Elms, from Frankland River to your table.

We're excited for you to taste the season.

We could have expanded faster. Planted more, made more, chased volume over patience.

We didn't, and we won't.

Slow w**e isn't a marketing angle for us. It's the only way we know how to do this: waiting for the vine to ripen on its own schedule, waiting for the w**e to become what it's meant to be, taking the time to celebrate and enjoy the journey.

Unhurried is our whole philosophy. And it shows with every sip.

This time of year, we're out among the vines lifting wires and tucking in shoots.

It might just look like we're keeping things tidy, but there's more to it. Canopy management decides a lot: how much sun the fruit sees, how much airflow moves through the rows, how even the ripening will be come harvest.

None of it shows up on the label. All of it shows up in the glass.

The first proper BBQ of the season.

Snags, a bit of char on the chicken, maybe some grilled corn. Nothing complicated.

Our Timbertops Tempranillo has the structure to stand up to anything off the grill: dark fruit, robust tannins, and a subtle, spicy undertone that pairs as easily with a sausage sizzle as it does with a good cut of steak.

Good w**e doesn't need a fancy occasion.

It began with a paddock.

No grand plan. Just a family planting vines in Frankland River, and enough stubbornness to stick with it through the seasons that didn't go to plan.

Three generations later, that paddock is the reason we're still here.

Hello, Riesling.

In the glass: brilliant pale straw, flecked with emerald.

On the nose: lemon, lime, a touch of musk, delicate but insistent.

On the palate: bright and sherbety, lively on the tongue, with a streak of mineral acidity that lingers long after the last sip.

Ready to enjoy now. Or, give it eight to ten years - it only gets more interesting.

Bruschetta to start, a margherita pizza to follow. Ripe tomato, torn basil, good olive oil, that blistered crust straight from the oven.

Our Gewurztraminer was made for exactly this kind of plate: aromatic, a touch of spice, enough acidity to hold its own against the flavours of the food.

Lunch on the verandah, if the weather's playing along.
