The Victorian Jockey’s Premiership Cup presented by the Moonee Valley Racing Club to W. F. (Billy) Elliot Leading Jockey 1937-38

A lightweight jockey Billy Elliot rode Phar Lap on six occasions for six wins in Australia plus his last race victory at Agua Caliente, Mexico in 1932.
Tragically and controversially Phar was dead just 16 days later, he died on 5 April 1932 on a property just outside San Francisco.

Elliot sometimes replaced Phar Lap's regular heavyweight jockey Jimmy Pike when he couldn't make the weight.

Sadly, Billy Elliot became ill whilst holidaying with his family at Gippsland and died of pneumonia in the Bairnsdale Base Hospital on September 20, 1941 he was just 33.

The Trophy Monitor was appointed by the MVRC to photograph, catalogue and value their precious collection of trophies and racing memorabilia.

It was an honour to be appointed to detail and value this magnificent 100 year-old sterling silver NZ Harness Racing Cup.
In 1917 the Bendigo owned mare 'Adelaide Direct' became the first Australian winner of this time honoured event at the Addington Raceway, Christchurch, NZ.
The Trophy Monitor also supplied a custom designed purpose built Transportation / Security case to house this arguably most valuable and historic Trophy in Australian harness racing history.

With Jenny Rose, wife of Australian and World Bantamweight Boxing Champion the late Lionel Rose.
It was an honour to value some of Lionel's precious memorabilia including his WBC Championship belt and the 'blood stained' gloves he wore when he defeated Fighting Harada for the world title in Tokyo in 1968.
RIP Champ.
