Eight Prime Ministers, six Premiers, multiple Cabinet Ministers, multiple Mayors & Councils, business, industry, community, unions, academia and the media, have all known this was coming for 29 years (so far) - now for the WA Bicentennial 2026-27-29-31 celebrations for Albany, Fremantle, Perth & Western Australia ..... how AUKUS is that going to be.

Fremantle Herald - 25 Jan 2025 p1 - Cook govt signs off port plan : Freo to get globally significant waterfront precinct ..... the Roger Cook WA Labor Government has endorsed an ambitious long-term plan to transform Fremantle Ports inner harbour into a globally significant waterfront precinct (perhaps several actually) - at the core of the Future of Fremantle vision is the relocation of container port operations to the proposed Westport terminal at Kwinana Beach by the late 2030s, supported by a $273 million commitment for detailed planning ..... the move is expected to unlock significant development opportunities for the port precinct(s), spanning 260 hectares of land and 20 kilometres of ocean and river frontage, from Victoria Quay to Leighton and Rous Head (not to mention the new Cities of Cockburn, Kwinana & Rockingham).

Fremantle’s new bridges - improving your journey on land and water .... construction is due to start late 2021 : revised to late 2022; revised to 2023 or 2024 - under construction, with bridge closure anticipated in 2025, and completion expected in 2026.
