"Sure, I'll just order it direct from China..."

That's exactly where some gym owners can get caught out.

In this week's episode of The SAOR Method, Gordon & Rob from Active Edge Fitness discuss a mistake they see more and more often.

Equipment bought purely on price without considering:
✅ Certification
✅ Insurance requirements
✅ Compliance
✅ Long-term risk

Because the real test isn't when everything is working perfectly...

It's when something goes wrong.

A powerful conversation for gym owners, PTs, and anyone considering opening their own facility.

“It’s the s**t we don’t want to do that becomes the most rewarding.”

Adam Connery went from nearly losing everything… to building multiple highly profitable Health & Fitness businesses while still working full-time as a Station Officer at Perth Airport.

His advice?

Embrace the suck.

Get a coach.
Be coachable.
Do the hard things.
And keep showing up even when you don’t feel like it.

Most business owners already know what they SHOULD be doing…
The difference is whether they’re willing to actually do it consistently.

This clip is a reminder that growth doesn’t come from comfort — it comes from repetition, discipline, and ex*****on.

Watch the full episode this Saturday to hear how Adam rebuilt his business, his confidence, and his future through structure, leadership, and relentless follow-through.

He nearly lost his house trying to build his business.

In this episode of The SAOR Method, Adam Connery opens up about the moment everything nearly fell apart… and the phone call that changed his life.

But despite leading in emergency situations every day, business brought him to breaking point.

Make sure to watch the full episode this Saturday to see how Adam — alongside Shane and the SAOR team — rebuilt the business from the edge of disaster into a thriving multi-site success story.

And honestly… if you need a push right now, this is the episode.

Just like Shane does every single day with the team here at SAOR, this conversation will challenge you to step up, trust yourself, trust your team, and take action.

We spoke about:
• Leadership
• Sales
• Growth
• Building culture
• Long-term business thinking
• AI & technology
• The “beautiful business basics”

But more than anything, this episode is about ownership.

Owning your standards.
Owning your vision.
Owning the responsibility that comes with building something meaningful.

There’s no shortcuts in business.
No magic formula.
Just consistent action, uncomfortable conversations, and showing up when it matters most.

If you’re a gym owner, coach or Health/Wellness business owner trying to build something long-term… start your day with this episode.

“Revenues for vanity, profits for sanity.”

Over the years, Shane hasn’t just built SAOR into a successful business… he’s built a business that allows him to build a life he actually wants to live.

And through SAOR, thousands of health & fitness business owners have been guided towards doing the exact same thing.

Because the goal isn’t just more revenue.
It’s freedom.
It’s sustainability.
It’s building something that supports your life, not consumes it.

That journey hasn’t always been easy.

But one thing Shane spoke about throughout the podcast was the importance of staying inquisitive.

The best business owners continue to ask questions.
They continue to learn.
They continue to seek guidance.
No matter how experienced they become.

“The fact that somebody puts their hand up and says ‘I’d like support’ already tells me a lot about them.”

That willingness to learn, adapt and stay open-minded is often what separates the owners who stay stuck from the owners who continue to grow year after year.

The flashy numbers mean very little if there’s nothing left over at the end of it.

Build a business that allows you to build the life you actually want and if you're struggling to do this, SAOR is here.

This week we had a VIP guest on The SAOR Method Podcast… the man behind SAOR Consultancy himself!

We spoke about scaling, leadership, sales, mindset, the “beautiful business basics” and what it really takes to build something long-term.

But one part of the conversation stood out more than anything else.

As business owners, we’re often so focused on the next target, the next problem, the next level… that we forget to actually acknowledge how far we’ve already come.

Shane shared a story from the very early days of SAOR that hit home hard.

He remembered one of the first small business payments that came through while he was still working a full-time job and building SAOR in the background.

Instead of celebrating with something extravagant, he took his wife out for dinner and a movie using money the business had earned.

And in that moment, it clicked.

“This thing that I thought of and built from scratch… is now helping provide for my family.”

Sometimes we all need to stop for a second and give ourselves a bit more credit for the journey so far.

Honest, raw and real.

Business is rarely a straight-up trajectory… it ebbs and flows.

Orla Clancy handled every obstacle thrown her way and still found a way to make it work.

We talk about resilience a lot, but resilience in business takes an immense amount of strength — especially while balancing motherhood, leadership, coaching and building a vision bigger than yourself.

This episode is packed with lessons, honesty and perspective for anyone building something meaningful.
