“Allyship is sometimes standing behind First Nations people by learning, listening and growing. It’s standing beside First Nations people… and having the courage to stand in front when our people need a voice.” - Damon Knight speaks at Corroboree Group Culture Day 2026.

Today we recognise Reconciliation Day, and reflect on the importance of learning from our shared histories, listening to one another, and building respectful relationships for the future.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey built through understanding, respect, and meaningful connection. By continuing to learn, listen, and walk alongside one another, we all play a part in creating a stronger future together.

These are values we strive to practice every day through our work, partnerships, and community connections, creating pathways that support opportunity, empowerment, and positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

"I like us being able to share the Indigenous culture."

The recent Corroboree Group Culture Day was enjoyed by many, including mum Ursula, who spent the day connecting with community and culture alongside her daughters.

It was wonderful to see people of all ages coming together to learn, have fun, and celebrate culture. As our Managing Director shared on the day, opportunities like this were not around when he was growing up, which makes it even more special that we can now create these experiences within our community.

We would also like to extend our thanks to the IEAC and everyone who helped make the day possible.

We can’t wait to see everyone again at future community events.

"Definitely go for it."

Hear about Brendon’s journey so far with our Indigenous Pathways to Employment Program (IPEP).

He first heard about IPEP through his cousin, who encouraged him to reach out.

From there, Craig supported him through his training and qualifications, helping him get started in his role as soon as possible.

If you’re in a similar position to Brendon and would like support finding a career that suits you, reach out to us.

Take a look at some highlights from our recent Corroboree Group Culture Day, held in recognition of National Reconciliation Week.

It was a wonderful day filled with laughter, learning, connection, community, and of course, culture.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. It was incredible to see so many people coming together to share stories, experiences, and meaningful conversations.

A special thank you to the IEAC, all facilitators, presenters, performers, volunteers, and everyone behind the scenes who helped bring the day to life. Your time, knowledge, and passion are what made this event such a success.

National Reconciliation Week is an important time to reflect, learn, and continue building stronger relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community. Days like these are exactly why Corroboree Group continues to do the work we do, creating spaces that strengthen relationships, celebrate culture, and help build lasting change within the communities we work alongside.

If you missed out this time, we hope to see you at one of our future events.

And if you would like to get involved, support the work we do, or simply have a yarn, we would love to hear from you.

What does meaningful change really look like?

Sometimes it looks like people creating opportunities where there once were barriers. Sometimes it looks like communities sharing knowledge, opening doors, and building stronger futures together. Moments like the 1967 Referendum remind us that progress is often shaped by people working together toward greater recognition, inclusion, and equality.

As we move through National Reconciliation Week, it is an opportunity to continue learning from our shared histories, strengthening understanding, and recognising the importance of connection, culture, and pathways that empower future generations.

National Sorry Day is a time to acknowledge the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations Survivors, and to reflect on the experiences and stories that continue to shape Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities today.

It is also a reminder that healing, truth-telling, and understanding are ongoing journeys for our nation. By listening, learning, and approaching these conversations with compassion and respect, we all have a role to play in reconciliation.

This date also marks another significant moment in Australia’s history. On 26 May 2017, the Uluru Statement from the Heart was delivered at Uluru following months of consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representatives from across the country, a powerful invitation for all Australians to walk together toward a better future.

Culture and artwork, tied together.

Our Corroboree Security team proudly wears ties featuring artwork by Dale Huddleston.

For us, it’s more than design. It’s a reflection of culture, connection, and the responsibility to ensure the work we do each day remains grounded in respect and community.

Even something as simple as engaging with our content helps share our message and grow the impact of the Program.

Our profits are reinvested into mentoring, training, and career development for IPEP participants.

What matters most is creating employment pathways that are accessible, achievable, and sustainable, grounded in connection, community, and generosity of spirit.
