Finally found time to modify my workshop air conditioner. Such a huge improvement.

Client called me out for second opinion after a cheap repair 2 months ago by others. Water tank was filthy and note the new pads being fitted with only 1 retaining clip and washer. I have now cleaned out the water tank and fitted 5x pad retaining clips and washers per pad.

Called out to look into poorly performing air conditioner in hot weather. Distance between left hand side of this unit and the wall is only 45mm- yep, found part of the issue + undersized unit compounding issue.

Unfortunate result due to a combination of a blocked ceiling space air conditioner drain and humid weather of late.

Sure tell tale sign that this air conditioner is leaking refrigerant gas and not cooling very well.

Installer hasn't bolted this outdoor unit to the footpath and also decided not to fit an elbow to the electrical conduit. An extra few minutes on the job, 4 Dyna bolts and a 90 degree elbow would have prevented this from happening. Pure laziness!!!

Example of dangerous wiring as found on a recent job whilst trying to fault find in a ceiling space. Clearly an installation fault due to laziness but, potentially deadly. I feel sorry for the client who was unaware of the dangerous wiring, but I had to legally report this to the OTR via an ECOC for urgent repair by an A class Electrician.

Went to turn off the power to repair a clients air conditioner. Don't know what to say about what I saw when opening this switchboard, but had a good laugh anyway.
