EMPLOYEE AWARDS NIGHT 🏆

On Friday night, our teams from across Kennedys Group traded the work gear for something a little sharper and came together for an evening dedicated to celebrating our people.

It was a chance to step away from the day-to-day, enjoy some great company, and recognise the people who continue to make Kennedys Group great.

A big part of the night was celebrating some incredible service milestones:

🏆 Mark Ferlazzo | 15 years
🏆 Stephen Weeks | 15 years

That kind of longevity says a lot. We’re incredibly fortunate to have people who have grown with the business, shared their knowledge and helped shape our team over so many years.

A NEW CHAPTER FOR AGEING INFRASTRUCTURE

We’re excited to have been awarded a new project with our client in the South Eastern Suburbs, replacing 56-year-old fibreglass skylight sheets at their commercial facility.

Our scope includes replacing the existing fibreglass skylight sheets with heavy-duty Webglass fibreglass sheeting, supported by specialist access and lifting contractors.

Project Manager John Lewis will lead the five-person Kennedys Group team, with Leading Hand Markus Spindler coordinating the team on site.

We’re proud to bring a practical, safety-focused approach to this important infrastructure upgrade.

ROOF RECTIFICATION DELIVERED

Kennedys Group has completed roof rectification works at a Prahran retail facility, delivering a coordinated scope across roofing, plumbing, drainage, asbestos removal and internal ceiling replacement.

Led by Senior Project Manager Adam Lamanna, the team completed a roof and gutter replacement across nominated areas, including the removal of corroded roof sheeting, installation of new corrugated zinc roofing, upgraded box gutters, rainheads, high-capacity sumps and overflow provisions.

The works also included stormwater upgrades, reinstatement of roof-mounted A/C units, Class B asbestos wall cladding removal with independent hygienist visual clearance, and reinstatement with new cladding and flashings.

A strong result delivered across a complex scope with multiple stakeholders and tight timeframes.

JARROD GUEST PROMOTED TO PROJECT MANAGER

We’re proud to share that Jarrod Guest has been promoted to Project Manager at our Williamstown branch. This well deserved promotion recognises Jarrod’s strong work ethic, reliability and continued growth within Kennedys Group.

Jarrod joined Kennedys Group in 2020 as a third-year apprentice and quickly established himself as a capable and dependable member of the team. His development saw him progress into a Leading Hand role before completing the Kennedys Future Leaders Program in 2025.

Known for his problem-solving skills, adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges, Jarrod has continued to build the leadership and practical experience that will support him in this next stage of his career.

COMPLEX ACCESS. PRACTICAL DELIVERY.

A service line to an iconic Melbourne landmark presented more than a straightforward plumbing repair.

The Service had wore over time due to the existing structure and ever changing conditions of Port Phillip Bay. Underwater growth had built up around the line, adding to the challenge of diagnosing the repair and isolation process

Accessing the damaged section of pipework began with isolating, cutting the line underwater, dismantling the fittings under the structure and carefully removing it from the sleeve beneath.

Led by Project Manager Billy Davies, with Leading Hand Markus Spindler and Andrew Robson on site, the team managed the difficult access and live environment with a clear, practical approach.

CREATING SAFER, HEALTHIER WORKPLACES

This morning, our Geelong team welcomed Jason Hoekstra, Construction Advisor from Victoria , for an important Toolbox Talk on psychosocial hazards in the workplace.

Jason discussed how to identify and address risks that may impact mental health and wellbeing. He also provided an overview of the new government regulations and how they will support safer, healthier workplaces moving forward.

Thank you to Jason for sharing his knowledge with the team, and to our Branch Manager Pat Bryce for arranging the session.
