Selling a property and wondering if your deposit can be released before settlement?

Once a contract is unconditional, a Section 27 Statement can be used to request the early release of the purchaser's deposit.

The purchaser may object in some circumstances, so early release isn't always guaranteed. NPTS can prepare and serve the Section 27 Statement on your behalf and guide you through the process.

Once settlement has been successfully completed, the selling agent will generally be notified that the keys can be released to the new owner.

Your conveyancer will keep you updated throughout the day and let you know when everything is finalised, so you know when it's time to make that exciting trip to collect the keys.

This is your chance to check that the property is in the same condition as when it was sold and that everything included in the sale is still in place.

If you notice something that doesn't seem right, raise it with your conveyancer before settlement so it can be addressed.
