To rotate or not......?
Scientists have been arguing for decades about this dilemma but in practice, about 90% of the challenge for a pastoralist is GETTING THE STOCKING RATE RIGHT!
But that in itself can be a significant challenge in shrublands; but with an understanding of ruminant nutrition it can be simplified. And how do you know if you 'got it right'. Easy, the livestock will tell you if they got enough tucker by their body condition score and the you can see if you overgrazed the plants that are providing the most limiting nutrient.
