For the record, Geraldton Scrap Metal close the gates by choice they have not been closed by any regulatory body.
And in 17 years of trading, Geraldton Scrap Metal has never had a workers compensation claim made towards us until Christmas 23 two popped up at the same time one for a splinter in a thumb the other for a sore knee. One of them is voicing his opinions on the GSM page

The final straw was not that the council would only approve me to be a STORAGE yard or the fact that anything stored here was not to be visible from the street or adjoining property's.
The final straw was the Council coming after me for breaches in the storage yard approval. (witch cost me $10 000.oo to obtain)

So the rot sets in.
I noticed yesterday somebody had dropped a load of air-conditioners outside of my yard, so I called the council and asked if They could clean up the mess. I received a call back late yesterday afternoon informing me they would send waste disposal around to collect it and throw it away Perfectly good recyclable products now in councils hands at the rubbish tip Good on your CGG.

GSM has given up, the gates have been closed for the last time.
10 years of fighting bureaucratic bu****it just to keep a popular/profitable Recycling business going.
I no longer have the drive for fighting city council all the way to The State Government just to run a Recycling business.
Many thanks to you all for helping me along this journey and making GSM one of the States top 5 Suppliers of non- ferrous metals to the WA export markets.

Well GSM has re-opened now at 36 Boyd Street Webberton WA 6530.
That’s the Eastern side of Anderson Street.
I finally got a response from the Minister for Police , this is the last paragraph,
I understand that following the audit Acting Inspector ----- from Licensing Enforcement Division contacted you on the 13 June 2022, to further discuss your concerns outlined in your correspondence. Additionally, Senior Sergeant ------, Officer in Charge of Licensing Enforcement Division, reviewed the identified breaches and determined no infringement was to be issued.
Senior Constable ----- contacted you on 14 June 2022, and notified you of the outcome. I trust this clarifies the position of the WA Police Force.
