🔥 FIRE TECHNICIANS WANTED 🔥
Mitchell and Brown Communications, Security & Fire is a locally owned business that has been operating for over 50 Years in the Midwest region. We are a Geraldton-based company with our Fire Services division specialising in the supply, installation and service of fixed fire systems and portable fire equipment.
We are currently seeking both experienced Fire Technicians, and inexperienced candidates with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, to join our Fire Services Division. As we are a multifaceted company with Communications, Security and Fire divisions, a successful applicant will be exposed to a diverse range of work with a primary focus on Fire Services.
Primary duties will be in the installation, maintenance and repairs to a wide range of fire equipment including fire detection systems, special hazards systems, fire hydrant systems and AFFF fire suppression systems on mobile plant.
Positions available for immediate start
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine servicing of fire systems including detection and occupant warning systems, fire hydrant systems and pumpsets, sprinklers, water storage tanks, AFFF fire suppression
• Conduct routine servicing of portable fire equipment including fire extinguishers, fire blankets, hose reels
• Fault-finding and minor repairs
• Completion of service reports and compliance documentation
• Ensure client sites are compliant with the NCC, Australian Standards and the identification non-compliances/defects
• Provide exceptional customer service and professional communication on-site
• Participate in occasional remote mine site work as required
Experience in the following is highly regarded but not essential:
• Trade background or experience in the fire service industry
• Extinguishing Agent Handling Licence
• Experience working on industrial and mine sites
Licenses, qualifications and requirements:
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Current WA Manual Driver’s License
• Cert II in Fire Protection Inspection & Testing
• Construction White Card
• Open Cabling Registration
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Able to pass regular drug and alcohol testing
• Police clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Additional/specific training will be provided to meet the requirements of the job role and work environment.
Remuneration will be in line with the applicant's experience. The employment package includes an equipped work vehicle, mobile phone, uniform and safety boots.
