Welcome back to Equestricare' Biz Tip Friday!

Let's talk about something that nobody warns you about when you start stepping out into the industry.

Imposter syndrome.

Yuup, that little voice that says β€” who am I to be doing this? What if I get it wrong? What if they can tell I don't know enough? What if I'm not as good as the other therapists out there? πŸ‘€

We want you to know, you are not alone. And that voice? It doesn't mean you're not good enough, it means that you care deeply about doing right by the horses and clients in your care.

Did you know even experienced therapists still get imposter syndrome?

The best way to start quieting that voice is to:

Be honest, how many hours do you actually spend with your horses per day? πŸ‘€

I know for me, I'll tell the other half it'll be a quick hour.... which turns into 4 hours πŸ˜‚ it's never an hour!

What's yours?!

It's time to normalise regular bodywork as part of your horse's standard care routine, instead of something you book once or twice a year when your horse feels uncomfortable.

Just like the farrier and dentist, consistent bodywork is maintenance. Annd maintenance is always easier than repair. ✨

Is bodywork already part of your horse's regular routine?

Welcome back to another Equestricare Biz Tip Fridays!

Let's talk about something so simple it's easy to overlook and yet it could be one of the most valuable habits you build in your business.

Taking just one photo or video at every day or every client session.

Just one, that's all it takes!

We know what you're thinking... I'm there to work, not to be a content creator. And you're right. BUT here's the thing, you are already doing the most incredible, visual, emotive work every single day. And if nobody can see it, it's so much harder to grow!

Here's why one photo or video a day (or session) is a game changer for your business:

It builds your content bank without overwhelming you. One photo per day (or session) adds up fast. Five sessions a week means five pieces of content and that's more than enough to keep your social media active and consistent without spending hours thinking about what to post. (us bodyworkers are busy enough!!)

It shows your work in action. No caption in the world is as powerful as a video of a horse visibly relaxing under your hands, or a before and after of a horse's posture. Seeing is believing and potential clients are always watching. πŸ‘€

It creates social proof over time. A feed full of real horses, real clients, and real results tells a far more compelling story than stock images ever could. People want to see YOUR work, YOUR horses, and YOUR personality.

It captures moments you can't recreate. That gorgeous release yawn, the horse dropping their head for the first time, and even the client's face when they see the difference. One quick video and you have content gold. πŸ’›

It doesn't need to be perfect. A slightly wobbly phone video of a horse sighing deeply is worth more than a perfectly polished graphic. Authenticity always wins on social media, especially in the equestrian world.

You also don't need a ring light, or a photography course. You just need your phone and the habit of pressing record (annnd maybe a tripod!)🐴✨

What's your go-to type of content you enjoy consuming on socials?

As riders, we sit on our horses' backs every single day. But how many of us really know what we're sitting on? πŸ€”

Here's something that might surprise you - the horse's back was never actually designed to carry a rider. It was designed to carry the weight of the organs below it. And yet we ask it to carry us, a saddle, and perform lateral work, jumping, collection and so much more.

That's why understanding the back is something we are really passionate about here at Equestricare.

Unlike what it might look like from the saddle, the horse's back is actually a surprisingly inflexible structure. The movement you see when a horse is working is mainly coming from the neck and pelvis. The back itself moves very little.

And here's the part that really makes you think..

The most vulnerable area of the back sits around T13-T15 which is the middle of the back, furthest from the support of both the forelimbs and hindquarters. It's the area most susceptible to postural issues and the place where problems tend to show up first.

It's also exactly where we sit. 😐

Add in a saddle that may or may not fit, a rider with their own postural habits, the horse's individual conformation, and the demands of training... And you'll start to understand just how much we're asking of this one area of the horse's body every single ride.

This is why regular bodywork and assessment of the back matters so much, so you can keep on top of your horse being comfortable, balanced, and able to do their job well! 🐴
