Cylinder corrosion caused by water ingress on this old now obsolete bettis actuator meaning no replacement cylinders are available from the OEM.

However this was no problem for the Cogo team as we can reverse engineer any obsolete parts and manufacture new to keep your assets operational and avoid lengthy lead times and MOC’s, we provide a full MDR with traceability of all materials and work performed to manufacture these parts.

Been a busy month in the Cogo world and it’s only continuing to ramp up.

Few scopes completed this week:
-access platform, ladders and handrail installation
-Workshop valve overhauls and certification
-RTJ fl**ge machining
-Field testing of API 6D pipeline ball valves

70year old Hopkinson boiler safety valve recertification completed at a local sugar mill

- valves removed from boiler by Cogo crew
- valves taken to Cogo workshop for full overhaul, replacement of worn/ corroded spindles, machining and lapping of discs and nozzles, reassembled, set pressure set and seat test proven
- machining of boiler drum and superheater nozzle fl**ge faces insitu
- reinstallation of valves ensuring high quality fl**ge management
- valves ready for steam trials and in-situ testing

2026 is already flying by, we’ve increased our capabilities this year with our new to us 16ton tray truck as well as completing the fit out on our valve container, this outfit is made to be fully self contained to make planning your next PSV campaign in town or on a remote site a breeze.

We’ve also commissioned our new cnc plasma cutter to increase our fabrication capability, and decrease our lead times, this will mainly be used in the manufacture of valve and pump transport frames.

As well as continuing with the day to day with some 3d printing projects and Rotork actuator overhauls.
