Happy Jeans For Genes Day! đź’™
Today, 6th August, is Jeans for Genes Day! Jeans for Genes is a charity which raises money for the Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) to fund vital research for children born with genetic diseases.
As many of you will know by now, my daughter Alexa, is an active member of the Girl Guide Association and also runs a unit of 12 wonderful Girl Guides aged 9–13.
One of the Guides came to her earlier in the term, asking if they, as Emu Plains Girl Guides could do something related to advocacy and service and fundraise for a charity. How could she say no? So we talked and landed on Jeans for Genes! 🧬💙
1 in 20 kids face a birth defect or genetic disease, with over 6,000 different known genetic diseases – most of which are poorly understood and have no specific treatment or cures – research is more important now than ever.
Your donation will help fund critical research programs, so CMRI can bring more cures to Australian children faster. How incredible is that?!
Today, on Jeans for Genes Day, it is Double Donation Day where every donation made will be matched to go twice as far!
đź’™ If you make a $10 donation, $20 goes towards funding vital medical research.
đź’™ If you make a $25 donation, $50 goes towards funding vital medical research.
