I'm a Hobart based engineer with experience in product design and manufacture of specialised parts. I build custom one off parts through to production runs of several hundred parts, depending on your requirements. I operate a CNC Mill and CNC router with vacuum table. This marks a pretty impressive milestone, not the sexiest carbon fibre tube (yet 😜) …. but this is our very first filament wound tube, made on our filament winding machine that we have developed in house, for a really exciting up coming project that is in the works.

So many more problems to solve, and processes to dial in …. but getting this far gives me goosebumps … I can’t wait to share what we having coming.

Things have changed since moving to bigger machines and bigger magazines…. it seems like such a long time ago that we used to battle with a 10 tool ATC …..

But now we still run out of tool pockets with the 146 tool ATC 🤣🤣🤣

Process Control is King …..

Middle of the day or middle of the night, this what we do … machines run without humans in sight.

It takes a lot front end loading to make the process reliable enough that you can leave the building with everything running in full swing knowing you are going to come back to good parts.

Sometimes I have to take stock and just realise how far we have come 👌
