Are Cheat meals and Refeeds useful when dieting!!

Cheat meals can trigger the mentality of “good” and “bad” food, depending on your perspective.
Positively they can be used to lower leptins and reignite your fat loss during hard dieting.
Negatively chest meals can often lead to unhealthy, unproductive and downright unnecessary eating habits that send your cravings through the roof(Ghrelin). Choosing foods that are inflammatory is another topic. This makes getting straight back onto your diet after a cheat meal or meals a real struggle for many.
Instead of using cheat meals you could use refeeds to counteract the effects of low leptin and reignite your fat loss.
What are refeeds?
A refeed is commonly described as a planned increase in calories used when dieting to negate some of the downsides of eating in a calorie deficit. Namely:
* Decreased leptin levels (and an increase in hunger)
* Decreased thyroid levels
* Increased cortisol
* Reduced resting metabolic rate
* Mood swings
Refeeds do this by boosting leptin levels and lowering cortisol.
The first step is to determine how often and how many calories you need. The quality and absorption of foods is another thing to consider.

At the time we are getting ready to step on stage, we don’t know how things really are.
We know better, when we can look at ourselves from the outside or from a distance.
Maybe as far as looking back at the past from the future.
The most important thing to take away from all this comp prep stuff is, that it is for the moment.
The sanity of it is - knowing that what your body looks like (how lean, how big, etc) at that point, means nothing in the big scheme of things.
From the moment when the show is over, it is mostly irrelevant.
Your HEALTH, your SELF-WORTH, how good you FEEL in your skin, your ability to COMMIT and FOLLOW THROUGH; That is what you can make last.
The rest will stay in that moment in time.
So enjoy the moment, because the moment is shorter than you think.
Plan for the long term happiness of You and your FOREVERBODY ❤

💎What happens after a competing?

It’s probably not the question you ask yourself during prep. But maybe it should be...
It’s important to give your comp prep your undivided attention to achieve the best result you can.
But because the prep is so intense and it takes up so much of your focus, time and emotion, once it is over, you might find yourself empty, exhausted and a little lost.

It’s important that you have some new goals lined up for yourself after competing.
A new purpose, something new to focus on and put energy into. Restoring balance is important.
Your perspective will shift. Not only in regards to your physical condition, but your emotional, social and even professional being.
Be ready for it.
Set new goals!

When it comes to your body.

It really doesn’t last long😊

Throwback 29 years to March 1995.
This was first time I had a go at dieting, goal was to get as lean as I could get and compete.
I had already been training with weights for 6 years by this point. First few years as a teenager with no gym was started by training under the house with a barbell, doing basic compound exercises.(squats, deadlifts, overhead presses) Only equipment was a bench press and squat rack made of timber😂. Bar across floor joists to do chin ups. Adding muscle size definitely improved when I got to train at a gym at aged 16.
This photo is of me about to start my posing routine at the 1995 IFBB Mr Brisbane Junior Title held at the Mansfield Tavern in Brisbane where I placed first.
