In our full live we explored following topics

1. From an Ayurvedic perspective, what are some common root causes or imbalances that may contribute to Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in women?
2. How can Ayurvedic practices such as nutrition, lifestyle, and stress management support women living with IBD alongside conventional medical care?
3. Are there specific signs or symptoms women should pay attention to that may indicate gut inflammation or digestive imbalance early on?
4. What gentle Ayurvedic approaches can help women improve their gut health, energy, and overall wellbeing while managing IBD?

🌿 Raising Awareness for Inflammatory Bowel Disease 🌿
ibd.ileostomy.awareness Dr. Liesel Ryan is doctor, also a patient living with Crohn’s disease for more than 30 years. 💜

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis, affects over 180,000 Australians — and the numbers continue to rise.

IBD is more than just a “stomach issue.” It can cause:
✨ Chronic pain
✨ Fatigue
✨ Bleeding
✨ Malnutrition
✨ Joint, skin & liver complications
✨ Emotional and mental health challenges

Currently, there is no cure.

Many people living with IBD rely on lifelong medication, lifestyle changes, and sometimes surgery just to manage daily life.

As part of Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Month, I am pledging to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and support research toward finding better treatments — and one day, a cure. 🌿

Together, we can:
💜 Break the stigma
💜 Support those living with IBD
💜 Advocate for more research
💜 Bring hope to millions worldwide

Please join me in raising awareness and standing beside everyone affected by inflammatory bowel disease.

May is Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Month, an opportunity to raise IBD awareness and shine a spotlight on the cost of diagnosis delays 💜

According to , “more than 1 in 10 people reported it took more than 5 years to get a diagnosis” and once diagnosed, “41% took more than 5 years before their IBD symptoms were under control”.

This means that it can take up to *10 YEARS* to receive a diagnosis and achieve remission 🤯

That’s an incredibly long time to be unwell, misdiagnosed, and often dismissed...

If you suspect you have IBD, here are the symptoms to look out for:
• Abdominal pain
• Bloating
• Gas
• Changes in bowel habits (often diarrhoea)
• Blood or mucus in the stool
• Fatigue and brain fog
• Weight loss

If you can share this post to your story or with a friend, it would be very much appreciated 🙏🏽

By spreading awareness and educating others about IBD and its symptoms, we can hopefully shorten the time to diagnosis and reduce the time it takes to reach remission.

As an IBD dietitian, I can advocate for you to get the necessary tests to confirm or rule out an IBD diagnosis. I can also help prevent disease progression and support remission.

So, if this sounds like what you need, please feel free to send me a message or click the link in my bio to book an appointment.
