Words like “WE” & “LOVE” & “EVERYTHING” & “ABOUT” & “YOU” etc, that you can colour in to create a sweet ‘lil’ message for someone. My son told me the other day “Dad is way stronger than you Mummy”…

Well, that went down well…

Daddy may be able to arm wrestle better than me but true strength is growing three lives in your body, loosing three others but still having hope.

Strength is having your insides cut open and 3 babies pulled out. Raising those babies while working and running a house. Strength is consciously opposing the patriarchy every day but knowing that there has been very little structural change in the last 40 years. Knowing that we are paid less for working more, we are hurt and killed in our homes and on our way home. We are told to “smile, get over it, get our t**s out, be quiet” but never make noise. We are bloody strong and we will only get louder.

The World seems extraordinarily heavy at the moment. I turned 40 last week as Russians tanks rolled into Ukraine and devastating water swallowed many communities in Qld (and now NSW) and the pandemic just keeps on keeping on… 😞

Doesn’t feel like a time to celebrate or be joyous. I have been hugging my babies a little tighter and appreciating my immense privilege bought about only via lucky geography. 🌎 All those poor souls.

I was expressing my guilt at planning my birthday event when so much suffering is occurring at the moment and was offered these words by a gorgeous musician I know;

“It’s important to cultivate joy still though, for you, your community, family and us as entertainers. We’ve gotta keep the love alive.”

Cultivate joy… 🌻 I will try x

IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Your typical kind card... brightly coloured in pink, green, yellow, blue and royal purple??? I mean, technically it’s close to an Yves Klein Blue but not as vibrant. But it def has big colour energy like it’s holding the whole card together. Anyway, the card is sitting on a crisp white envelope on top of an almost mustard yellow background. It’s a nice card to receive.
