Sink & tapware choices....who knew there were so many!?

My favourite is actually the wall spout with the mixer wall mounted, beside the spout. Kind of like a bath.. 🛁

However, with 3 teenage and almost teenage boys at home, my husband made the excellent point that we want this silky oak vanity to last, and to reduce the splashes and wipe downs.

So - this is the design we landed, and compromised on ❤️

What do you think?
Will it help us stay dry???

Here is a little selection of my 'wrong size' for instagram photos 🙈

I love the cute little thrifted ducks I found on our travels! 🦆
I couldn't not put them in, so here they are...and even a little outdoor photo shoot, which just happened to fit the whole piece in 🤷🏽‍♀️

Any locals with photography knowledge or skills?? 😉

Funny story...

I am a bit out of touch with instagram - posts, photos, all the things...

So I had completed this little piece, styled it up and I stood back to take a few photos. I played around with different props, but in the end I went and snipped fresh natives from the garden and loved how they looked, so I finished there.

The next day, I went to post a little picture, and I had taken the photos in the wrong size!
Instagram won't show the whole thing 😳🥴

So I had to quickly (I don't have much time) throw the vase of flowers back on top, and take a pick in the correct size - BUT, the flowers! 🙃
They are wilted and drying out, as native do with no water 🙊

Long story short, the furniture piece is light and lovely...but my instagram skills may need a brush up 😆

How amazing, to be able to work on these beautiful pieces of family history 🙏🏽

Whilst it has been a very big year for us - lots of changes and challenges in family life, I continue to work quietly in the workshop as I am able.

I so appreciate everyone's patience as I take my time to lovingly restore and bring life back to the timber in these treasured, timeless pieces.

Have you seen a piece like this before?
Usually they are all red cedar or hoop pine, but this one was a lovely mixture of both, perhaps from previous restorations.
I worked to create some continuity in the colour difference between these 2 timbers, keeping the hardware as original as possible.
I did, however, have to replace the side mesh as it was crumbling and disintegrated beyond repair.

Just handles to go for this beautiful, functional piece.

I love a good set of drawers - so much storage and many various uses - a kitchen sideboard, office or craft storage, kids bedroom, collections, the options are endless ❤
