First of all I would like to thank all my wonderful customers for your loyal support over the last 25 years at Viewclear Vision Redbank. No doubt most of you were affected in one way or another by the Covid Pandemic. As a small independent business, it did not spare me too. I saw all my suppliers in Australia shut down one by one. Left with no alternative, I too had to shut down Viewclear Vision at Redbank. The transition from full time work to semi-retired was a deserved rest after 42 years in the Business.

Unfortunately that privilege was short lived and on March 4 I ended up at the RBH after having a heart attack. A few weeks of total rest and support from all who know me I have made a full recovery. Defying the trend to see most things going to Land Fill which is what is expected as the norm today, I feel a moral obligation to once again do my best in contributing towards saving our planet and running a small but efficient workshop from my home. As you will notice I have reduced my working hours and will be more then happy to assist over the phone or via text messages. Once again Thank you for your invaluable support . Kind Regards Michael.

Almost half way through the year & many electronic businesses & manufacturing companies are going out of business, its all thanks to the Chinese global taking over with their cheap and nasty manufacturing. A well know fact today is even the high end products manufactured in China have a life expectancy of no more then a few years. Dont take anyone's word for it come in and take a look in my workshop, 6/10 new items will end up as landfill. A repair industry that only a few years back was a thriving business; is today almost redundant. If lack of support from the community for all small individual repair centre stops. It is a matter of 1 - 2 years and there will be no repair centres to offer any kind of advice or repairs in & around Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba & Warwick areas. Keep your individual repair centres operational no matter what services they offer, its a lifeline many in the community need.

The start or 2016 has been storm free so far and hope it will continue so, but we cannot avoid the unexpected and Electrical Storm season is around the corner. Most house holds have insurance to cover the unexpected. Just to make sure that your policy does extend to fusion and electrical storm damage please read the fine print. With so many Insurance companies offering cheaper options,many incidentals have been excluded. If you find your policy does not cover you for Electrical Storm damage!!!! Precaution is the best remedy. If you are going to be away for a few days, or you see lightning or thunder storm, unplug !!!!! THE ANTENNA LEAD FROM THE WALL.!!! This will stop any damage to your home entertainment, Tv and other equipment. Antenna acts as a lightning conductor and will do significant damage to your equipment. Fox tell, and Optus cable can also bring surges through the cable so if lightning is sited unplugh all power to the equipment. Do enjoy trouble free viewing .

With the festivities behind us and most of the house hold shopping list complete, retailers and on line shopping sites are contemplating on what is the next move. As we witness the demise of yet another iconic brand Dick Smith Electronics the retail business now finds itself in the hands of its liquidator's. This is definitely goin to take its toll on other electronic retailers as pressure is growing with an Aus $ almost 25% lower then same time last year. China the worlds largest manufacturer of Electronic equipment has just seen its currency devalued and production slowing down. When and if you contemplate on purchases on line, please look into one important fact. Any investment be it $100 to $3000. You expect to at least get value for money. The many on line television and home entertainment suppliers are not living up to their obligations to the consumers. Most of them do not supply any parts after the initial 12 month warranty be it for a cheap product or one that has cost you $1500. If you would like to know first hand on Brands to avoid give us a call we will be happy to give you an honest opinion and our judgment is based on facts not on hear say. Another scam to be aware of is extended warranty being offered. Before you part with you money to purchase an added extention to your existing warranty check and double check the company offering these warranties. Have they been in business for at least 10 years. Recently a few of the so called reputable warranty sales companies have gone into liquidation and the consumers have lost out.

Almost that time of the year when every one is busy preparing for the festivities, house hold budgets are in over drive, contemplating what is going to be suitable that will please the whole family. In present days the next most important investment after your home is not the new car , not the wonderful holiday, its your home entertainment package. Media and communication it our next most prized assets which each one of us prioritize. Make this investment count. Dont let impulse purchase leave you with regrets in just a year or so. Here at our workshop we are seeing a huge number of branded products fail within just a few months. I have been a strong advocate for quality rather then quantity. Local importers and distributors have been put under much pressure to offer value for money and in doing so have open the flood gates to some inferior and poorly manufactured products. The Year almost drawing to a close , much has happened in the electronics world. 2015 will be remembered for a year when the market showed signs of bouncing back up , when the banking industry pulled the mat from under the feet of small business. The first people to suffer was the repair and service industries. Tv and home entertainment repair business have yet again suffered a tremendous blow. Almost 80% of repair shops wiped out and the rest just about manage to keep afloat. What is next? The writing s on the wall. Totally Cheap and Crappie imports have dominated our markets and there is no such a thing as Value for Money. A product purchased today has a life expectancy of 365 day and any more than that is a bonus. I feel lucky to have been around and witnessed the world and its reliance on electronic inventions from the early 70 to date , that spans some 40 years. Great inventions supported by great minds = Great success. Cheap production supported by inferior materials = disater in the waiting. China and its huge manufacturing capabilities have proven to the world, they can produce Quantity but unable to manufacture Quality. Next time you seek to purchase an electronic appliances do check it place of manufacturing. MADE IN CHINA = MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN.

Half Yearly updated as to what is going on . June is fast on its way out, end of financial year and people look forward to receiving that bonus tax credit from the ATO. What will it be spent on. Perhaps the most favorable investment in the house will be Home Entertainment package. So much on offer with Big Screen LED/LCD TV's taking pride of place in the house. Should your investment cost around $2000.00 or more protect your self from nasty surprises. Sony Tvs will be one I will recommend you should avoid. High failure rate on their screens call into question the integrity of a company who for almost 25 years dominated the entertainment market. PIONEER sound sustems is not so far behind with their budget end on the slide and poor performance Amplifiers. Last but not Least. Read the fine print on any extended warranty you may be offered . Many of these so called reputable people go into liquidation sooner then you think leaving you with a contract worth nothing. Every consumer in Australia has rights. Do not let business who have sold you a product pass the buck. If you feel your equipment has failed within the first 16 months demand for an explanation. The lemon law neede to be called in. Among all things do we want to become the worlds dumping ground for electronic waste?

2015 promised to be a good year for the so called technology buff. Many new products have been introduced and the cost of electronics has dropped. Many of you have rushed out and bought the very latest in TV's, Home Theater sysyems , Mobile Phones and accessories. In doing so you have cast away a perfect and reliable old friend that has served you well. Now comes the dilemma, how come the new equipment is flawed with hiccups operating issue and unreliable operation. Well they say if some thing sounds too good to be true then it has to be riddle with various scenarios. LED Technology has proven to be highly cost efficient but incorporate it into a TV and its reliability is questionable ? The failure of LED panels have surpassed plasma in a very short period of time. So much for the research and development carried out by companies on the cheap. !!!! Time cannot be simulated on a computer and atmospheric conditions cannot be duplicated in a laboratory. So next time you part with your precious $ seek information as to the reliability of a product and its manufacturing origin. If a manufacturer is offering an extended warranty then they have some confidence in their product even if it sends them out of business within 4 years. As we start another New Year I take the opportunity to wish each and every one a very Happy New Year. Thank you for your support over the past year.In keeping with the demand for new technology and an ever increasing market globally, manufactures have increased they need for generic products and out sourcing most of their manufacturing to Countries like Thailand Indonesia and China.With some 35 years in this Industry I believe I have been a witness to the first transistor radio Colour Television, the walk-man the first laser disc player satellite receiving equipment Video Recorders ( VHS - Beta Max ) Etc Etc. It sure is with much regret I have to say never has the quality of manufacturing been at its lowest standards as it has been over the past 3 years. In all of this, one can but assume the blame lies totally with cheap manufacturing and consumer acceptance of inferior built products. A good guide line to purchase equipment today is to see where it is manufactured and what is its true value.If some thing sounds to good to be true then walk the other way.
