What an incredible week!

Over the past week I have completed work experience with Jules. Throughout the experience I have gained valuable insight into the local government and the many people that help the Goondiwindi community thrive.

I had the absolute privilege of meeting Steve Minnikin, Minister for Customer Services and Open Data and Minister for Small and Family Business. I also had the chance to attend a tourism event where I met Sam Coulton, owner of Goondiwindi Cotton and I also connected with two very special people Zeb Riddell and Ken Dachi. Zeb and Ken recently went to Kiribati with Jules and 6 businesses from Goondi and Inglewood to interview people for roles in the community.

I also had the opportunity to assist Jules with filming content for her Councillor page around water and sewerage projects.

Work experience this week gave me a fantastic opportunity to learn about local government, tourism, small business, workforce development and the many people working behind the scenes to strengthen the community.

A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed me, shared their knowledge and made my week such a valuable and memorable experience!

Workforce shortages continue to be a challenge for business growth across our Goondiwindi region.

As the innovative region we are, a few of us have come up with a pilot program to try and solve this!!

If you are a business in Goondiwindi Regional Council area, and are looking to fill labourer/ low entry roles in the following industries this could be for you:
- agriculture
- construction
- aged and health care
- horticulture
- meat works

Friday 8th March was BIG!!

Breakfast in Chinchilla, lunch in Toowoomba, home to Goondiwindi for dinner!

Along the way I celebrated with over 400 women across and at the 2 volunteer led events I was part of!

What I know for sure - women's involvement in business and community is not a "nice to do" it's an economic imperative... Our regions are better for it!

Thanks for the beautiful gift in Chinchilla, and I received a beautiful in Toowoomba.

As always, here's to strong women - may we raise them, support them and see them succeed! X
