NEH Hoof Care Practitioner Offering Equine hoof care to the greater Sydney areas. Barehoof trimming and booting consultations and shoe removal and transition programs available.

Why call myself a hoof care practitioner over a bare hoof trimmer? As part of the study of the Equine Podiatherapy we are trained to not just trim the hoof, but assess its function and overall aspects of how the horse uses its distal limb and body. Our paradigm/ guiding principals is to use an anatomical landmarks of the hoof to provide a trim that will improve function. We look closely at pathologies like seedy toe, white line separation, flaring, club hoof and hoof distortion to decide what would help the horse most to improve function at this place and time. And prescribe a trim which will assist the horse form a hoof to remedy these pathologies. As I'm yet to complete my diploma I've chosen to call myself a hoof care practitioner. Im a person who has engaged in studies and practice my guiding principals with every trim. And feel that this is the most accurate description of the services I provide.
- Hoof Trimming
- Treatment of pathologies
- Hoof boot consultations
- On going analysis of the progression your horse makes as part of my care.

One of the best decisions I made for my horse was to train with Jose Mendez, 22 years ago.

Have a read of his blog and decide for yourself what you want in a trainer.

Respect for, and partnership with your horse are key to Jose’s approach to training horses and riders around Australia, the United States and England.
