💜 Why are boundaries so important in support? 💜

Good support is built on kindness, trust and respect—and clear boundaries help keep those relationships safe and positive for everyone.

Boundaries help participants understand what to expect, protect their privacy and choices, and give support workers clear guidance about their role. They also encourage independence, allowing people to build confidence and connections within their own lives. 🌷

Being caring and approachable goes hand in hand with maintaining professional boundaries. This includes respecting personal space, keeping private information confidential, communicating through appropriate channels and keeping support within agreed arrangements.

Sometimes, a boundary means kindly saying, “I’m unable to do that, but let’s work out who can help.” How we communicate that matters—everyone deserves to feel heard and respected. 🤝
