Our first Vacvator has officially arrived in New Zealand.

The Metro 6-76 NDD-DRY has landed in Dunedin and is now with the team Hall Bros Transport.
Hall Bros provides services across civil earthworks, transport, demolition and recycling, and we’re pleased to be supplying their team with a Vacvator that gives operators the flexibility to safely excavate using both water and air.

Our Operations Manager, Daniel, was in Dunedin for the handover, working alongside the Hall Bros team providing operator training across the truck, its controls and the day-to-day operation.

For Vacvator, support doesn’t stop when the truck leaves our Goulburn facility.
A thorough handover is an important part of getting every new Vacvator ready for work and giving operators the knowledge and support they need from day one.

This latest unit has been delivered to a Victorian council, ready to support crews working
across the local community.

The Metro 6-76 NDD continues to be a popular choice for councils and contractors because
it’s practical, capable and designed with the operator in mind.

When you’re a small business, having someone in your corner can make all the difference. 💚

A look inside the trades 🛠
Recently, we welcomed two local students to Vacvator for work experience, giving them the opportunity to get a first-hand look at two very different trades within our Goulburn facility.

Candice spent her time with our fabrication team, learning about welding and what goes into building a Vacvator from the ground up.

Ethan joined our spray painting team, getting an insight into the preparation, process and attention to detail that goes into finishing our equipment.

Both worked alongside their leading hands, asking questions, getting involved and experiencing what a career in Australian manufacturing can look like.

Work experience is a great opportunity for young people to explore different trades before deciding what path might suit them and it gives our team the chance to pass on some of the skills and knowledge they’ve built over the years.

Thanks to Candice and Ethan for spending time with us and to our team for taking the time to show them the ropes.

We hope the experience gave them a valuable insight into where a trade career could take them. 👏

Real-world feedback from the people putting the equipment to work 🙌

Our recent customer has been putting their new Metro 6-76 NDD-DRY through its paces in Western Australia and Managing Director Peter Mais recently sat down with Trenchless Australasia to share how the vac truck has been performing.

This unit also marks an important milestone for Vacvator as the first Metro 6-76 NDD-DRY we’ve built on the Hino 700FS platform.

From challenging asbestos-related clean-up work to trenching and tight-access excavation, Peter and the Vac Civil team have already put the truck across a wide range of applications.

One comment in particular was great for our team to hear:
“It has outperformed on everything I thought it was going to do.”

Feedback like this matters to us. It gives a genuine view of how the equipment performs once it leaves our workshop and gets into the hands of operators doing the work every day.

🩹Keeping our first aid skills up to date.

Today, members of the Vacvator team renewed their First Aid accreditation with Rod from Allens Training.

Rod did a great job of making the session both engaging and educational, giving the team the opportunity to refresh their knowledge, practice important skills and build confidence in how to respond should a medical emergency occur.

While we hope these skills are never needed, being prepared matters.
