Last Friday we handpicked the Pinot Gris from our biodynamic estate vineyard. Low yields, picked at the perfect Baumé and pressed off after the weekend on skins 💓

Harvest 2026 has well and truly arrived! As we head into Easter this weekend we will be picking more grapes, watching over ferments. The Cellar Door is open by appointment only for wine tastings, times on Thursday the 2nd April are available to book in online now!

Today was the first day of picking at our Granton Estate vineyard! These rows of Pinot Noir come from some of the oldest vines here. All this Pinot Noir fruit is destined for our 2026 vintage certified organic sparklings; Brut Rose, Grande Vintage, and Prestige ✨

The 2024 Pinot Gris recently featured in a blind wine tasting! Carlos closely guessed Friuli Pinot Grigio, our customers may know our lineage links back to Friuli, the Lubiana’s immigrating from their vineyards there to Australia in the 1950’s. Stefano fondly recalls his father and grandfather employing skin contact methods here in Australia during the 60’s/70’s, a technique commonly used where they were from in Northern Italy.

We hand pick, hand sort our certified organic fruit before leaving it to cold soak on skins for 48 hours. Once pressed off and the must is is fermented on full lees in French Oak 500L puncheons. Bottled onsite in early summer.

We enjoy our Pinot Gris with fresh Tasmanian crayfish ( catch in slide 6), though the tannins and phenolics suit a wide variety of dishes including lemon chicken or summer courgette. Get a bottle today for your next BBQ, or to blind taste with your friends!

Welcome 2026! The warmer weather is here and our 6AM starts are back. The cooler mornings give us a chance to get ahead, and the team is making the most of it. Check out the growth in our 1995 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blocks at the Estate vineyard, where the fruit is setting and yields are looking low >>>

Ever wondered how we are certified organic and biodynamic? Yesterday we had our annual vineyard and winery audit! In 2022 we planted a new vineyard just 4km down the road to 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, and we're currently pursuing certification for this 2.2ha site with soil samples sent off for testing.

This vineyard's unique black clay over chalk soil type is perfect for producing wines with great structure and acidity. The vines roots delve down to the chalk, creating low yields. Meanwhile the clay is fantastic for water retention.

We're proud to be certified organic and biodynamic, making wines that respect & protect the land, worker and consumer. Annual audits keep us on track with our organic and biodynamic practices 💚

A moody dark sky setting over the Ruscello vineyard. As the weather travels down the Derwent River, past Mount Dromedary towards us, it’s a good chance to update everyone on our winter progress in the vineyard!
All blocks have been carefully pruned, under vine cultivated flicking out weeds and grass, half the vineyard was planted with broadbeans a natural method of fixing nitrogen into our soil, and we have importantly been servicing our equipment ready for the growing season ahead. We love this time of year, as we prepare for the upcoming months of growth 💚

Our vineyard team has been working diligently this season. At the moment we are picking the last of our beautiful Pinot Noir grapes 🍇

Vintage 2024 has been hard and fast. We can’t believe it is already Easter, with majority of the Pinot Noir now in the winery. A busy few weeks still to come!

Today is International Riesling day! To celebrate we have a unique offer for our mailing list.

We have been growing Riesling at our estate for almost 30 years, the first plot planted in 1995. Our cool climate wines age beautifully and as they cellar the acid mellows and create a rounded mouthfeel. It is wonderful to look at and compare wines as they age!

Subscribe to our mailing list via our website to gain access to this unique Riesling offer.
