We recently supplied over 116m of our 60 LEDs per metre strip lights to an NSW colliery looking to replace their old lighting system and improve visibility along the walkways in the processing plant.

The previous high bay lights became inefficient when covered in coal dust, significantly reducing light output and quality.

Our LED strip lights are encased in double layer food-grade silicon with built-in nanotechnology to repel dust and dirt, keeping them brighter for longer.

With a full flood of light from floor to ceiling, our LED strip lights enable workers to identify risks and mitigate hazards early.

We've shared some photos from the installation below.

Industrial work environments like mining, tunnelling and oil and gas are home to some of the harshest conditions, requiring robust and durable lighting to keep employees safe.

Our LED strip lights thrive in harsh environments, withstanding many tough conditions, such as high temperatures, moisture, corrosion, vibration, explosive atmospheres and dust.

Check out the infographic below for six reasons why you need LED strip lights in your industrial work environment.

Our IECEx-certified LED strip light range is the first of its kind.

It is purpose-built to prevent explosions in hazardous environments such as mining, oil and gas, tunnelling, oil and gas and other volatile industrial applications.

Certified for use in Zones One, Two, Twenty-One and Twenty-Two, our range isolates and contains sparks to prevent explosions from escaping and igniting gases, dust, fibres and particles in hazardous atmospheres.

Improve the safety of your hazardous environment today with our IECEx LED strip lights.

Inadequate illumination remains a primary cause of accidents and injury in underground environments. Therefore, having sufficient and suitable lighting for the task at hand is critical for safe working conditions and keeping your workforce safe.

We've shared the top five ways LED strip lights can improve the health and safety of your underground teams in the blog below.

Our LED strip lights provide continuous and constant light lux levels compared to other LED lighting systems. The graph below shows our x-Glo LED strip light's lighting distribution versus a traditional 80W light.

The LED strip lighting system provides continuous and consistent lux levels, while the traditional 80W light offers 200 lux at a single point which continues to decrease the further you are away.

By offering continuous, floor-to-ceiling illumination, our LED strips eliminate shadows, glare and hazardous dark spots to help workers operate more safely while identifying risks and mitigating hazards early.

Thanks to the flexible and low-profile design, our strip lights are easy to position and install in any location, making them less likely to be damaged by underground mining equipment.

They also provide a flexible solution for installing and positioning lighting in the best place for the task at hand including lighting near any potential hazards like steps or ramps.

Occupational Health and Safety are paramount in Australian mining, especially when explosive, combustible, or dangerous materials are involved.

Different countries define their own standards and certifications for electrical equipment used in explosive environments. For example, while ATEX was previously recognised in Australia, an IECEx electrical certification is now required to meet Australian standards for explosive and combustible environments.

Did you know you could lower your operational costs by making the switch to LED strip lights?

Unlike traditional lighting sources, prone to premature failure due to harsh environmental conditions, industrial LED strip lights are engineered for harsh and hazardous environments.

With corrosion, impact, shock resistant and fire-retardant properties, the MineGlow LED strips substantially reduce lighting maintenance required!
