Story time:
As a mom, I always want to make sure that I don't go over my weekly budget for groceries, but HELLOOOO! the STRUGGLE is REAL!
Sometimes, this is what I do, I check the apps and the online catalogues of grocery shops and check the week's specials or whatever is on sale.
Do you do that too? Do you compare prices before you go shopping?
One time, we went for a grocery trip and we bought about 4 or 6 packs of 5kg rice which was on sale at half price, so we got it for $12 each pack. After that, we had to go to another store because some veggies are not available at the first shop we went to. Then I went pass the rice section, and their rice was not on sale, so I realized that if I did not check the online catalogue to get the specials that day, and had we gone to that store first, it could've cost me $60 more for 5 packs of rice!
I just remembered a story I read here in Facebook too. Did you know that when you retire, you might spend your retirement fund just for your food!?
Look at this sample conservative calculation below.
For example, if you are a couple, and you'd have to eat a meal worth $20 x 3 meals everyday, in the next 20 years after you retire (60-90 years old). Just assuming 90 as an average age.

I've maxed it at $20 assuming there are days yoi won't cook, and assuming the inflation will cause food prices to even get higher
So, do you thinkk you'd have enough retirement funds?? That doesn't even include your rent/mortgage, water and electricity bills, toiletries and other necessities, supplements, maintenance medicines, internet or phone bills, etc.etc... 😨 Actually when you retire the prices may even double up already! 😨
This is the reality, it's sad, it sucks, but these numbers don't lie either. And hey, this is just for a couple, what about if you have kids or grandkids?
This is why if you are still at your Prime Years, make sure you are ready, or you are getting ready. Prepare for your retirement, don't just rely on a single income. Look for a side hustle, learn the options of having a passive income, start a small business, start an online business because everything can now be done online!
Don't worry about what will happen if you can't save up, instead, focus on what you can do for your future.
