When assessing a product or supplier, it’s worth looking beyond the claim itself.

Can banner mesh have a second life? ♻️

That’s a question our R&D team has been exploring as we look for more sustainable ways to manage our products at the end of their useful life.

We’re currently investigating recycling pathways for both our banner mesh material and nylon eyelets - with the aim of finding solutions that are practical, effective and genuinely make a difference.

Product circularity in construction isn’t simple, and there’s no single perfect solution. That’s why we’re approaching it from multiple angles: designing better products, improving durability and exploring more sustainable end-of-life options.

There’s still plenty of work to do, but we’re encouraged by the progress being made.

For us, it’s about making meaningful improvements that reduce the environmental impact of our products and help our customers work towards their own sustainability and ESG goals.

A supplier tells you their new containment system is more sustainable.

Reusable. Less waste. Better for ESG reporting.

Sounds good.

But if you’re the Health & Safety Manager signing it off, there’s probably another question going through your head:
“What happens if it fails?”

Because when the weather turns, the scaffold loads up or an auditor walks onto site, the sustainability pitch won’t be what matters.
