Slow down. Move over. Give roadside workers space - and approaching drivers earlier warning.

Behind every flashing light is someone who deserves to get home safely.

Slow Down, Move Over is a vital roadside safety message. Digital alerting helps reinforce it as motorists approach emergency vehicles, roadside crews and active work zones.

HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud, supplied and installed by Australian Warning Systems, sends real-time warnings from equipped vehicles and assets to approaching drivers through supported navigation apps and compatible in-vehicle systems giving them more time to slow down, move over where safe and give workers space.

For emergency services, towing, traffic management, road maintenance and utility fleets, it adds a digital layer of protection alongside warning lights, arrow boards, VMS and existing traffic controls.

Planning a fleet upgrade or specifying your next vehicle fit-out? Include digital alerting in the safety discussion.

Australian Warning Systems supports supply, installation and fleet deployment across Australia and New Zealand.

For OSOM, heavy haulage and oversize load operations, a properly configured pilot vehicle warning system plays an important role in giving approaching road users clear advance warning.

Australian Warning Systems proudly designs and manufactures Australian Made Certified roof-mounted pilot vehicle signs, along with custom roof-mounted signage for other fleet and operational requirements, from our Hallam, Victoria facility.

Our OVERSIZE LOAD AHEAD pilot vehicle sign systems can be configured around the vehicle, operating environment and relevant state or territory requirements, with options including:
• Manual gas-strut or 12/24V electric operation
• High-visibility amber LED rotating beacons
• Additional surface-mount LED warning lights
• Front and rear sign illumination for night operations
• LED work lights
• Front-facing white flashing / wig-wag lighting where applicable
• Vehicle-specific mounting and wiring solutions

That flexibility is particularly important for operators travelling interstate.
Pilot vehicle and OSOM requirements can vary between jurisdictions, load dimensions and individual permit conditions, so the warning-light and signage package needs to suit where and how the vehicle will actually operate.

Australian Warning Systems can complete the pilot vehicle fit-out at our Hallam facility. If you already have a trusted auto electrician or installer, we can also manufacture and ship the roof-mounted sign system as a ready-to-install package.

Whether it’s one pilot vehicle or a growing heavy transport fleet, the objective is straightforward: clear signage, appropriate warning lighting and a reliable setup built for the work it needs to perform.

The warning equipment fitted to a roadside vehicle should match the work the vehicle actually does.

A pilot vehicle, council maintenance ute, traffic management truck or landscape maintenance crew may all operate around live traffic but the information they need to give approaching motorists can be very different.

Australian Warning Systems supplies and manufactures vehicle-mounted warning solutions for these applications, including Australian-designed and manufactured AS Series arrow boards, designed to meet Australian Standards.

Where conditions or messages change throughout the job, our vehicle-mounted VMS boards provide programmable full-matrix text and graphics, remote operation and compliance with Australian Standards. They can be integrated onto heavy-duty tray utes, trucks, service bodies and custom mounting frames.

For pilot and es**rt applications, AWS also designs and manufactures Oversize Load/Patrol/Mowing ahead etc, roof-mounted sign systems at our Hallam facility, configured to suit the vehicle and mounting requirements.

These systems suit applications across road maintenance, traffic management, councils, pilot vehicles, utilities, civil works, landscape and vegetation maintenance and roadside operations where clear information, strong vehicle visibility and reliable equipment all contribute to safer work around traffic.

AWS can supply and professionally install the complete setup, including arrow boards, VMS boards, roof-mounted signage, LED warning lights, work lights and customised fleet fit-outs.

If a vehicle is being replaced, upgraded or standardised across a fleet, it makes sense to consider the warning system as part of the complete build.

While AWS has been busy with HAAS Alert demonstrations and pilot trials, our installation team has also been keeping busy with the day-to-day fleet installation work that keeps vehicles safe, visible and ready for the job.

One of our recent installs was this IONNIC lightbar, fitted to a motorsport medical team vehicle.

For medical and response teams operating around motorsport events, visibility is critical whether they’re moving through busy paddocks, responding trackside or working in low-light and high-traffic environments.

It’s another great example of the work happening behind the scenes alongside our connected vehicle safety initiatives: combining quality vehicle warning equipment today with the next generation of digital alerting through HAAS Alert.

A great result from the install team. 👏
