🇪🇸 Growth doesn’t always happen where we’re comfortable.

Barcelona reminded me of that.

A new city, unfamiliar transport systems, unexpected rain, busy streets and plenty of moments where we simply had to figure things out as we went.

And that’s part of what makes travelling so rewarding.

It challenges us to adapt, stay curious, embrace the unexpected and trust ourselves a little more.

I’ve come to appreciate that personal growth isn’t always about making big changes. Sometimes it’s about being willing to experience something different.

The same applies to our professional lives.

We can become so comfortable with what’s familiar that we forget to question whether it’s still aligned with what we want.

Growth begins when we give ourselves permission to explore what’s possible.

And sometimes, that starts with simply taking a different path. 🌿

🇪🇸 Seville, Spain — A little reminder of why I started.

Cobblestone streets, beautiful architecture, tapas, sangria, passionate flamenco performances and plenty of laughter along the way! 💃🍷

Travelling has a wonderful way of giving you perspective.

It takes you away from familiar routines and reminds you just how much there is to experience beyond the everyday.

A few years ago, I started questioning what I wanted the next chapter of my professional life to look like.

Not because I didn’t value my career, but because I wanted to explore greater flexibility, autonomy and choice in how I spent my time.

That curiosity led me to explore a different business model, one I’m continuing to build alongside my professional commitments.

And experiences like Seville remind me why that decision was meaningful.

Sometimes personal growth begins with simply allowing yourself to consider a different possibility.

Here’s to new experiences, meaningful connections and creating a life that reflects what matters most. ✨

🇵🇹 What if your next chapter looked a little different? ☀️

Today, exploring the beautiful Praia do Barril in Portugal with Ruth, I found myself reflecting on how much life has to offer when we’re open to new experiences.

A little train ride through the nature reserve, a stunning beach, fresh seafood, plenty of laughs and absolutely nowhere we needed to rush off to. 🌊🥰

For much of my professional life, work commitments determined when I could take time away and what I could fit around them.

And while I still value my career, I’ve also become increasingly passionate about creating a future with greater flexibility, independence and choice.

That’s one of the reasons I began exploring a self-directed business in the personal development and leadership education space.

I’m still building that future, learning along the way and enjoying the people and experiences it’s bringing into my life.

Because for me, success isn’t just about what we achieve professionally.

It’s also about having the freedom to enjoy the life we’re working so hard to create. 💛

Turns out reading a script naturally is MUCH harder than I imagined! 😆🎬

Behind the scenes in the Algarve - Portugal- filming new marketing content for Embavida . . . lots of laughs, plenty of retakes and definitely a few bloopers!

One of the best parts? Sharing this experience with like-minded people who’ve travelled here from Ibiza, the UK, New Zealand and across Australia.

We all have different stories, but one thing in common — we made a decision to explore a different way of working and create more freedom, flexibility and balance in our lives.

For me, making that decision has been one of the best things I’ve done. ❤️

Sometimes the best part of taking a different path is the people you meet along the way. ❤️

Six months ago, Ruth and I arrived independently in beautiful Phu Quoc, Vietnam, for Sovereignty Live . . . both solopreneurs building our own businesses within the same global education company.

We didn’t know each other. In fact, we only really connected on the final day.

Fast forward six months… and here we are in Portugal together. 🇵🇹

This week we’re creating professional headshots and marketing content for our individual businesses, before swapping work mode for adventure mode and spending the rest of the month travelling, exploring, laughing and making some pretty incredible memories together. ✈️🥂

One thing I’ve come to appreciate is how powerful it can be to surround yourself with people who share a similar outlook on life . . . people who value growth, independence, experiences and creating a life that feels right for them.

Business may have been what crossed our paths, but friendship is what came from it.

And for that, I’m incredibly grateful. 🙏🏻🙌🏻

Apparently personal growth in Portugal involves seeing life through pastéis de nata. 😂🇵🇹

But somewhere between exploring new places, meeting new people and eating far too many of these… I’ve been reminded why I wanted to create a different way of working in the first place.

Not to stop working.
Not to escape real life.

But to create more room in my life for experiences like this.

Building Embavida 🌿 is still a journey for me. I’m learning, stretching myself, meeting incredible people and doing things I probably wouldn’t have imagined a few years ago.

And if there’s one thing Portugal is reinforcing for me, it’s this…

I’d rather keep exploring what’s possible than wonder what might have been. ❤️

Although I may need to explore slightly fewer pastéis de nata. 😂

This is what creating a life around your work looks like for me. 🇵🇹✨

My first day and night experiencing beautiful Lisbon, and I’ve had one of those moments where you stop and think… how did I get here?

One of the things I’m most grateful for about building an online business isn’t simply the flexibility to work from different places. It’s the people it has introduced me to . . . like-minded people from different backgrounds and different parts of the world who share a desire to grow, experience more, and create life a little differently.

For a long time, I believed work had to fit into a fairly traditional box. You worked the hours, built your life around them and squeezed the things you loved into whatever time was left.

I don’t believe that anymore.

I’m still building. Still learning. Still challenging myself. But today I’m doing it from Portugal, surrounded by new people, new experiences and opportunities I never would have imagined for myself a few years ago.

And that feels pretty bloody special. 🌿

Sometimes changing your life doesn’t start with having all the answers.

It starts with being brave enough to explore what else might be possible.

Just a girl from the Central Coast, NSW… with a suitcase and the determination to build a career around the life I want to live. ✈️

I’d rather take a considered chance than look back wondering what might have been.

Technology has opened up more ways to build a working life around what matters to us. But when you have bills to pay and people depending on you, change can still feel out of reach.

I understand that feeling. I’m exploring what’s possible, one practical step at a time, with my responsibilities firmly in mind.

Now I’m heading to Portugal to meet people who’ve taken their own chances, learn from their experiences, and make a few memories along the way.
