What’s the idea, task or business job that’s been sitting on your to do list waiting for some proper attention?

Bring it along to our Back of the Napkin Working Lunch on Tuesday 22 September 2026 at the Anglers Inn in , where we’re setting aside two practical hours to help you make real progress over lunch.

You might have an idea you want to explore, a business plan that needs starting or finishing, a task you keep putting off, something you need advice on, or simply a pile of things that would be easier to tackle with some dedicated time and the right people around you.

Bring your laptop or device, choose what you want to work on and get stuck in. We’ll have three experienced facilitators available, so there’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, bounce around ideas, get practical business advice and work alongside other people who are getting things done too.

There won’t be hours of presentations or sitting around talking about what you should do next as the whole idea is to use the time to actually do it.

Lunch and drinks are included, it’s free to attend, and these Back of the Napkin lunches are always a great mix of practical help, useful connections and conversations that often lead somewhere unexpected.

If you’re across the Copper Coast, Yorke Peninsula, Mid North or within a drive of Wallaroo, come and join us.

There is always plenty to talk about over a local cuppa!

At Local Tea in Kapunda Light Regional Council with Tracy Wilson Teach Many Ways and again in Port Pirie at Sweet Icings by JJ with Wendy Perry, everyone began by introducing themselves and sharing a little about their business, idea or area of expertise.

The conversations quickly moved into the practicalities of running and growing a small business: how to attract more customers, make better use of social media, combine email and print marketing, build a useful customer database, strengthen networks and gather testimonials.

We also discussed testing new products and services with potential clients before fully launching them, asking for honest feedback and using those conversations to refine the offer and determine the right pricing.

A strong theme was just how supportive local communities can be of regional businesses, particularly when business owners recommend one another, share opportunities, collaborate and consciously buy locally.

Thank you to Geoff Brock MP and Lisa from Tom Venning MP’s office for joining the Port Pirie catch-up, and to Jackie and the team at Sweet Icings for providing such a welcoming venue Port Pirie Regional Council Business Port Pirie.

The introductions might begin over tea or coffee, but the connections and conversations can lead to new customers, collaborations, referrals and opportunities.

One Location, One Afternoon = Months of Valuable Content

One of the biggest misconceptions about creating video content is that it has to be expensive, professionally produced or filmed in multiple locations to be effective. That simply isn’t true. Most businesses, consultants, tradespeople, technical experts and industry leaders already have everything they need to create valuable content. What they’re often missing is a simple plan.

Rather than trying to produce one perfect video every few months, set aside an afternoon and head to a location that naturally reflects your work. It might be a construction site, a manufacturing facility, a vineyard, a renewable energy project, a country main street, a university campus or a busy port. The setting immediately adds credibility because people can see you’re talking about something you genuinely understand.
