Queensland Drones is proud to have played a small part in making this project possible through aerial LIDAR mapping of the greenfield site and access roads in partnership with ONF Surveyors. It's great to see these projects coming online at last.

Another solar farm switches on in Queensland, completing trifecta for NBN Co

Solar farm near Gympie is the second to reach completion in a week in Queensland, and means that NBN Co is now sourcing all its electricity needs from renewables.

Was a pleasure to spend time with the STEM students at Toowoomba yesterday as part of Science Week. Great to see so much interest in emerging technologies for environmental management. Thanks to Amaroo Environmental Education Centre for the invitation.

Watch this space. Drone taxis are coming soon. China has fast tracked approval of drone taxis in its capital, Beijing, and is building an economic model for the airspace below 1000'. If successful, this will spread very quickly and other Chinese cities are already lining up to be part of it. These are not unmanned at the moment (by which I mean pilotless) but they will be in the future.

The view from my office today is simply stunning. Currently mapping a 2800 Ha cotton farm in far north Qld with Lidar to establish new levels for flood mitigation across the property. Gotta love this job! Two days laying and measuring 55 ground control points, then 5 days of flying. Currently on day 2 of flying. Results so far are very impressive.
