I have been seeing some local events coming across my Facebook feed lately and went looking to see what was coming up and also found some free things through the council. I

have signed up to a Q & A with Trent Dalton tomorrow night and also a Garden walk with someone from the Butchulla people who are the custodians of the land on which I live. My goal is to keep an eye out on what is coming up in Hervey Bay and get a chance to meet others and ask questions about the people and history of this area.

I have heard a lot of people say that they would love to have Feng Shui done, but it was not on their priority list. I can understand this as although I had an interest in Feng Shui and wanted to know more, I thought that there was no-one close to teach me. But I did not ask nor did I investigate what was available.

Eventually I came across a local practitioner who was doing workshops and so from there my knowledge grew and I was able to apply some Feng Shui to my home.

Try the tips that are out there and come back to me or another practitioner and ask why they did or did not work.

Looking at the Chinese Astrology of this year the chart shows no water, which means that the Fire has no tempering. This can mean that we will find this year one of extremes, but if you personally have water in your chart then you will find life and work easier to navigate.

For those who need some water, add some Blue and Black to your wardrobe and add a water feature or aquarium to the South East of your home.

Years ago a few books were published that said that decluttering had to be done before you could Feng Shui your home. I have read those books and they are not as harsh as we have taken it. But we have made assumptions that your home has to be perfect before Feng Shui can be done.

Total myth.
Most of what you own is there because it makes you happy — and that usually works just fine in Feng Shui. There are thousands of formulas that help Qi flow around whatever you’ve got.

Decluttering and cleaning are not the same thing. You don’t need to throw out everything you don’t adore. You just need a clean space so the energy can move around your home.

We’re often our own harshest critics. Even if we’re not drowning in stuff, we can feel guilty about boxes or bits we think need sorting. That feeling doesn’t stop us from doing effective Feng Shui.

If your home is basically clean and tidy, that’s more than enough to get started. Feng Shui doesn’t demand perfection — just a space that’s cared for.
