The proposed North Burnett Renewable Energy Hub, located about 38 kilometres north-west of Eidsvold, is inviting community feedback.

The project includes a large-scale solar farm and battery storage system. A short survey (17 questions, 5–10 minutes) is now open and will help inform project planning and potential community benefit opportunities.

Alright Fraser Coast — I’m starting a new FCPIA column series that digs into our local demographics (with the real numbers behind the headlines).

Here’s the big one: we’ve grown from about 86,117 people in 2006 to 120,685 by June 2024 — roughly 34,500 extra locals in 20 years. And the twist? We’re still growing even when births don’t… because people are choosing to move here.

In Column #1 I’ll explain what that means for housing demand, approvals, roads, schools, health services — and why it flows straight through to prices, rents and overcrowding if we don’t keep delivery moving.

Keep an eye out — I’ll be running this as a series.
