Proud to support Murlpirrmarra Connection Limited!

SMS Mining Services was proud to attend today's Murlpirrmarra Connection Raceday Fundraiser at Ascot Racecourse.

As a longstanding partner since 2013, we're pleased to continue supporting Murlpirrmarra's important work in creating opportunities through education, community engagement, and employment pathways for Indigenous youth.

Two CAT 789s are back on the move following successful rebuilds through the SMS Mining Services workshop.

Both trucks underwent extensive rebuild work before progressing through reassembly, testing, commissioning and final inspections. Now loaded and heading back to site, they’re ready for their next stage of operation with renewed reliability and service life.

A great result from the SMS team — rebuilding major mining equipment and getting it back where it belongs: on site and moving tonnes.

A welcome addition to the SMS Mining Services team, although this one won’t be heading out to site.

A big thank you to Komatsu for our new BBQ. We’re looking forward to putting it to good use with the team, with plenty of snags and Friday afternoons around it to come.

We appreciate the gesture and the continued relationship with the Komatsu team.

A milestone worth celebrating in Kalgoorlie.

Last week, the SMS Mining Services team came together to celebrate 10 years of our Kalgoorlie Workshop, marking a decade of growth, hard work, and strong partnerships.

The evening was also an opportunity to recognise three team members who have been part of the Kalgoorlie Workshop journey from day one. Their 10 years of dedication, hard work, and commitment have contributed significantly to the growth and success of our operations over the past decade.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone, and congratulations to the entire Kalgoorlie team on an incredible 10 years.

Here's to the next chapter.

Reliable drilling starts long before the first hole is drilled.

Our Epiroc drill is shown here during test drilling, where it is being thoroughly assessed before entering service.

By combining modern, low-hour equipment with highly experienced maintenance teams, SMS Mining Services ensures every machine is prepared to deliver safe, efficient, and dependable performance in the field.

Quality equipment, careful preparation, and dedicated people are the foundation of consistent drilling outcomes for our clients.

Another new addition to the SMS Mining Services fleet — the CAT 988 Next Gen Wheel Loader.

Fresh into the fleet and already being put through its paces, this CAT 988 Next Gen is undergoing our pre-operational inspection process before heading to site.

Every machine in the SMS fleet goes through a detailed inspection and preparation process before mobilisation — whether it’s brand new, fully rebuilt or returning from a previous hire. It’s all part of ensuring our equipment arrives on site well prepared and ready to perform from day one.

Built for high-production loading applications, the CAT 988 Next Gen Aggregate Handler adds further capability to our growing wheel loader fleet, with factory-installed TPMS, payload monitoring and object detection as standard.

Another quality addition to the SMS fleet, and we’re looking forward to seeing this one get to work.

Quality rebuilds come down to the work behind every component.

Inside the SMS Mining Services Kalgoorlie workshop, our team works across each stage of the rebuild process, including the fabrication and welding required to repair, reinforce and prepare equipment for continued operation.

It’s hands-on capability backed by experienced tradespeople, workshop facilities and a focus on completing every job to a high standard.

Our support fleet continues to grow alongside our operations.

As SMS Mining Services expands, we are continuing to invest in the vehicles and equipment our maintenance teams rely on across sites and facilities. Having the right fleet available helps our people respond efficiently and deliver the reliable service our clients expect.

Our field service capability provides on-site maintenance and repairs across mining fleets, supporting everything from minor repairs and breakdown response through to planned maintenance and major shutdowns. Backed by experienced tradies and fully equipped service vehicles, our teams are ready to support operations where they’re needed.

That same standard applies across everything we operate. From our field service vehicles through to our heavy equipment, our fleet is maintained to a high standard and kept work-ready to support safe, reliable operations.

Contact Craig Harris & Alisha Blizard today to discuss your maintenance requirements.

R U OK? Day is an important reminder that checking in with the people around us can make a real difference.

In mining, we spend long days working alongside our teammates, but it isn’t always obvious when someone might be doing it tough. Taking the time to start a genuine conversation and asking “R U OK?” can give someone the opportunity to talk when they need it most.

To mark the day, we’ll also have a lunch truck on site, giving the team a chance to take some time out, catch up and connect with each other.

Today, and every day, we encourage our people to look out for their mates, check in and make time to listen.

A major mobilisation out of the SMS Mining Services Kalgoorlie workshop.

Preparing a Liebherr R 9200 for transport is a significant undertaking. With a machine of this size, careful planning and coordination are required across every stage, from preparing and removing components through to loading and securing the excavator for its journey to site.

Once mobilised, the R 9200 will get to work supporting high-production mining operations, delivering the digging and loading capability required to move large volumes of material efficiently.

A great effort from the Kalgoorlie team behind the preparation, ensuring this impressive piece of equipment was ready to leave the workshop and get to work on site.
