Katherine will join us alongside the Australia Day Council of South Australia, Defence SA and South Australian Space Industry Centre to share how local innovation and industry are helping shape the future of space technology and creating exciting career and business opportunities right here in South Australia.

Southern Launch continues to demonstrate its position as the global leader for orbital re-entry services with the safe return of Varda Space Industries W-6 capsule to the Koonibba Test Range.

The W‑6 re‑entry is the fourth capsule to land at the Koonibba Test Range in just over 12 months, putting high-cadence orbital re‑entries on a path to becoming as routine as space launch.

Working closely with the Koonibba Community Aboriginal Corporation, the Koonibba Test Range plays a critical role in establishing Australia as a world‑leading destination for commercial spacecraft re-entries.

Wow, what an event! Thank you to everyone who came by to see us at the Defence and Space Industry Careers Showcase.

We were blown away with how popular our immersive experience was, with people of all ages. Including Minister for Defence & Space Industries Chris Picton MP.

We met so many wonderful young people interested in a career in Space, picking only 6 students for our work experience program is going to be very tough.

Thanks again to Defence SA for hosting us and to Craig and the team for supporting our experience on the big screen of the MOC. We're hoping to take this experience on the road and might be coming to your city very soon!

We're excited to share that we are now accepting applications for our 2026 Work Experience program!

⏰When: June 23-26, 2026.
📍Where: Southern Launch HQ in Adelaide.
🙋Who: Year 10 Students.

Over 4 days you will get an inside look into the various career paths in the Australian space industry, learning directly from our team and industry partners. By the end of the week, you will be ready to launch a (bottle) rocket of your own design and test its performance.

Artemis II Orion capsule to Koonibba Test Range...we hear you clearly!

The capsule carrying the four NASA astronauts is more than 360,000km away from Earth and we are proud to report that our Raven Defense Corporation TALON dish is receiving signal loud and clear!

The entire Southern Launch team is proud to support this historic mission in partnership with the Koonibba Community Aboriginal Corporation.

We were honoured to welcome the SA Minister for Defence & Space Industries Chris Picton MP to watch the launch of the Artemis II mission with us at our Mission Control in Adelaide.

Southern Launch is proud to be supporting the NASA mission through our partners Raven Defense Corporation using our telemetry infrastructure at the Koonibba Test Range.

We are the Artemis generation – and we are going!

WHAT A DAY! We're headed back to the Moon!

And most excitingly, Southern Launch is playing a role in supporting the Artemis II mission through our partners at Raven Defense Corporation!

We're helping NASA to assess the broader aerospace community’s tracking capabilities. This will support future Moon and Mars missions through passive Doppler tracking using our Raven Defense TALON telemetry dish at the Koonibba Test Range.

The team will be on console throughout the mission providing this vital data to NASA and will complement Raven Defense's operations in the Northern Hemisphere.
