Integrate Workforce

Integrate Workforce Our mission is to assist people with a refugee background into the construction industry in Hobart Our business has been built with many hands.

Lyden builders have been phenomenal from the very beginning. Andy Lyden has become a great friend. Clients have given us work because they want to assist refugees, Supervisors have taken the time to 'apprentice' our guys into various tasks. TV, radio and other media have assisted in spreading the 2PM services have been incredibly generous in their business advice and assisting us to with a business plan, a website, and Meegan Wilmot Photography has taken many of the photos.

Integrate Workforce is in recess until further notice. We're working towards starting up again sometime in future :)

Yesterday Bahar started a Landscaping Apprenticeship with Lyden builders!
Bahar was our last employee and Integrate Workforce is now in recess until the construction industry picks up.
I think about 10 of our 80+ employees now own their own homes. I’m so very happy with this
Thanks for being with us on the journey 🙂!

A great news story for your Saturday night… Ken got a Carpentry Apprenticeship starting Monday! He’s put in so much work and is such a deserving legend. I have zero doubt he will utterly rock the whole educational process and become a construction business owner in future. There is no stopping this guy!

Ken is now on a brief trial for a landscaping apprenticeship!
He started with us in November 22 and is a brilliant employee, loves learning and, if anything, his flaw is to work too hard. Dean, a supervisor at Lyden Builders, spent the better part of 18 months showing him the ropes. And as pictured, he was interviewed about his work on radio by Lucy 🙂
He’s ready to fly. Go Ken!!

This morning Andrew came into our cafe to be inducted onto a new worksite. He's been a phenomenal assistance to us, not only as a brilliant employee, but also as an older mature mentor to the team which has quite a few younger guys on it currently. So so happy
Thank you Andrew!

Wow, the past few months have been an interesting road. From mid Feb - mid April we put on 9 new employees - 5 of those in one week! But now with some larger projects nearing completion we're scouting for more work. Ups and downs!

What a super cool day!
It was the first day at work for a few of these employees. Collectively, we had 7 of our employees on a large Tolosa Park project which we will be involved in for the next few months. And Harka (2nd from left) who was with us for about 18 months before landing this full time position with Reveg about a year ago, is now totally kicking goals as supervisor of the 7 🙂
So happy!

Ok, so I'm not capable of letting good ideas go... and there are definitely professionally diagnosable reasons for that. But that aside, we know that this idea is feasible as 4 of our guys have achieved it already (in less than 4 years). But I have too much on my plate to coordinate this without assistance. We can provide the employment and inspiration. We need assistance with consistent mentoring which I envision to be a casual chat from time to time.
Would you like to get involved? Please get in touch!

UPDATE (Long overdue!)

• 61 Employees to date (9 currently employed with another starting tomorrow morning)
• 28 have found full time work through IW
• 4 have purchased (or built) houses as a result of full time work 🙂

I estimate that collectively these have now completed more than 200,000 paid hours of construction work. What a contribution to Hobart's housing!

How good it this!! Paw Nay was our very first employee. After 2 years working with us he secured a full time position, then a homeloan, a block of land and then had Lyden Builders build the family home! It will likely be an early Christmas present with hand-over due in early December. Truly integrating into the community of Hobart!!

Paw Nay was also an incredible assistance to us. His work ethic, mentoring of younger guys, leadership of the broader Karen community bringing us new possible employees etc. So greatly appreciated! Thank you Paw Nay
