The IRONMAN Oceania team would like to provide athletes, stakeholders and the local community with an update on the future of IRONMAN 70.3 Tasmania.

The team have been working through the 2025 race calendar for the region and can confirm that IRONMAN 70.3 Tasmania will not be taking place next year. We are hopeful that the event will return to the calendar in future years.

Tasmania is truly a beautiful place โ€“ from the deep-water start into the Derwent off the Brooke St Pier, to the first indoor transition in the region, the bike course with the most elevation in Oceania and the run taking in the historical Hobart waterfront, we really have created a course like no other.

The event team would like to thank athletes and the local community for their support of IRONMAN 70.3 Tasmania in its first two years. We will take time to review and look at options to make this race even better for the future. We look forward to welcoming you back to the most southern IRONMAN 70.3 race in the world and those of you that have yet to take on the challenge - you can start your training now.

A special shout out goes to all the volunteers who made the experience special for so many athletes. There has been so much positive feedback about our Tassie vollies who supported athletes all the way from the start to finish line (as did all the incredible cheer squads on the sidelines!)๐Ÿ‘

Huge congrats goes to our Pro Male winner, Nick Thompson, and Pro Female winner, Chelsea Sodaro. What a way to start 2024! ๐Ÿ‘Š

That's a wrap on 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Tasmania. What a day!

The sprinkle of rain and challenging hills meant athletes worked hard for their medals today, but the smiles at the finish line proved it was all worthwhile. A HUGE congratulations to every single athlete who raced today. We hope you're kicking back with your feet up somewhere, because you sure deserve it!

The Pros kept everyone on the edge of their seat today, and a huge congrats goes to Chelsea Sodaro and Nick Thompson for taking out the win.

To all the volunteers who gave up their time to help out, thank you. So many athletes we spoke to gave a special shout out to how fantastic you were out there today, whether it be behind the scenes, out on course or at the finish line. We couldn't do it without you.

Now that you've ticked off a pretty epic goal so early in 2024, the big question is...what's next???

An incredible day of racing from our female professional athletes.

A close swim that then saw a four hold strong together for the majority of the duration of the bike. But, she showed her class and what an IRONMAN World Champion can do as she moved away at the end of the bike before really putting on a show on the run.

It was tight from the get-go, and we saw a few different leaders throughout the day, but there could only be one winner. He's in hot form off the back of an incredible 2023, and he has started off his season the right way here today.
